how abt a roach climbing onto ur back w/o u knowing? i experienced that on 171 b4. if i'm not wrong, it's TIB772M.

I've seen far more roaches in confined spaces. And since I had to use my hands to grab the thing they were on, you get the idea.
My hand was full of squashed roaches. -
A few days ago, my non bus-enthusiast friends and I were taking 188 from Harbourfront.
When we were boarding the bus, they already predict that the bus will have cockroach.
True enough, got cockroach at the rearmost seats! -
i think the bus companies ought to clean up their buses like every quarter or half a year basis.
in the meantime, clean up the oily hair stains off the windows, mop the bus floors, clean up the aircon ducts and also clear the nests of roaches or other insects.
Buses' condition are dropping because no one bother to take the effort to thoroughly clean up the interior ever since the bus was first commissioned.
i think it's what the bus companies shld do. we pay for the fare hoping to have a comfortable ride as well. -

Think about it. SMRT isn't that free to wipe every window of every bus everyday just because some stupid female leaned their head on the window. At least that's what they are TRYING to do. -

I tink SMRT should give free cockroach killer for passenger, see cockroach kill. the Shidlox one also can, got dettol in it.

Previously each depot got 1 Depot Asst who is in charge of bus cleaniness during TIBS time.They will vacumm,Wash both interior @ Exterior,Troubleshoot EDS systen at least once in every 3 mth for each bus.But since SMRT took over they cut down cost by terminating/Transfer those DA and Timekeepers from Terminals.Currently for AMDEP they hire private cleaners(3 peeps) @ 2 peeps for Yishun.

I still remembered that there was this show on TIBS in the late 1990s. They showed how TIBS staff went into the bus (a NAC Nissan/Hino) to spray insecticide and they described it as done "every 2 weeks"...how times have changed, roaches on every other SMRT bus you see.
Although it is the fault of the passengers to throw rubbish on the buses, it is however the responibility of the bus comapnies to keep their buses clean. Lets say, if another class which was having lessons at your homeroom, littered the classroom, whose responsibility is it to clean up the classroom? -

Yes, you're right. SMRT has the responsibility to clean up their buses, but notice that you also mentioned "every 2 weeks". That's the keypoint here. Then BC should come in and help out . Theres a posting at Yishun Int that SLs should keep in mind that their driving area should be free of cardboard and newspaper . Hope this can extend to the entire bus. Sweeping some tissues , plastic bags and wrappers shouldn't take very long.Originally posted by Oceane:Yes, you're right.
