Drivers tend to stop away from the kerb thus also causing jams on the first lane so tat bc can exit faster..Originally posted by ^tamago^:They've been doing that since the introduction of B9TL's, which features a wider chassis/body.
are you sure it was done especially for the B9TLs? I thought it was part of LTA's programme earlier this year to enable buses to exit and enter easierOriginally posted by ^tamago^:They've been doing that since the introduction of B9TL's, which features a wider chassis/body.
thought that's at jln eunos only?Originally posted by simnatic:are you sure it was done especially for the B9TLs? I thought it was part of LTA's programme earlier this year to enable buses to exit and enter easier![]()
no man he is right. by technical specifications by removing that divider u convert a "bus stop' to a "lay by"Originally posted by ^tamago^:thought that's at jln eunos only?![]()
The trials have actually been implemented in the Western Towns' main roads since June. It has definitely improved conditions to an extent. Say if there is two or three buses at a stop, the bus in the middle or back can exit without needing to wait for the first bus to move.Originally posted by ^tamago^:but isn't that hazardous?
well, i guess the timing of it conincides with introduction of B9's then i came to this conclusion.
esp bus stops at bt panjang..Originally posted by simnatic:The trials have actually been implemented in the Western Towns' main roads since June. It has definitely improved conditions to an extent. In the issue of hazard, the LTA has installed barriers on the kerbs of the bus stops. In doing so, it makes it a little safer but they're destroying all the tiles and replace the tiles with mismatching ones.
the drivers damn chao kuan.. blocking the first lane..Originally posted by ZYX2005:no man he is right. by technical specifications by removing that divider u convert a "bus stop' to a "lay by"
where lay by means bus occupy half the first lane then can immediately zoom away without needed to look out for car on first lane

No leh? almost every bus I waited, they still wait slowly for the front bus to exit then they exit.Originally posted by simnatic:The trials have actually been implemented in the Western Towns' main roads since June. oh that one is the pure definition of this thing called lay-byOriginally posted by manjieass:the drivers damn chao kuan.. blocking the first lane..
this is a very correct thing to do . glad lay by idea implemented so bus journeys fasterOriginally posted by stooper:You got no luck.179 BC, if they stop too close to bus in front, still will reverse the bus a bit then overtake.
But other times, they just stop far from the kerb and occupy the first lane as well as mentioned above, then can chiong out.![]()
