the space above the front wheels can be fitted with seats. I just got back from London yesterday. I did see a lot of their Single Deck low floor WAB, with seats on top of the front wheels.Originally posted by XiaoTaro:The problem with low floor buses is that the spaces above the front wheels cant be used for seating or standing, that makes it one of the cons as lesser ppl can fit into the vehicle. Furthermore, those high floors are most likely cheaper to buy and to maintain.

Which bus' body is made by Gemilang? I see that Penang has 2 bus operators now. I know one bus company which has a red and white livery (simmilar to SBS pre-2000 livery) and the other one is Rapid Penang. Since when these buses are introduced? Looks new to me.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:China buses of Rapid Penang.

Steering and dash of a Sheng Long bus. To the left of the steering is the gear selector. The number will change as the gears shift. The bus use an Allison gearbox and is my favourite of the 3 'long' buses.
Very nice angle... and I wish SBST would choose rims for their future buses. If not looks very ugly.Originally posted by Scania:

AFAIK, none of the buses I showed had a Gemilang bodywork. The Dong Feng buses are bodied by MTrans and the rest, I believe, are CBU.Originally posted by tintinspartan:Which bus' body is made by Gemilang? I see that Penang has 2 bus operators now. That's right. The whole bus is air-conditioned. The air-con blows from the rear and is strong enough to cool the whole saloon. However, the fan is too noisy and it drowns the engine sound; but it still brings back fond memories.Originally posted by XiaoTaro:Wow... Is that an Aircon unit retrofitted into the chassis?
The long black vent at the rear of the bus is the aircon vent? Never remember it exist in CMB's Atlanteans...
Very Interesting!

Top: 03/12/2005. A rapidly disappearing sight in Japan; non-WAB buses. Model and make need confirmation. I guess by now it might have already retired and scrapped.
Bottom: 02/12/2005. WAB, the new trend that popped up in a rapid-aging society. I guess Singapore is also following the trend but at a slower rate. The bus should be Mitsubishi, again needs confirmation.
