No. It's cos you are shooting against the sunlight. Your subject will appear darker cos your camera senses the bright sunlight coming in and reduce the exposure. No camera will have such a sharp drop in quality. You need to get it checked. After that all should turn out fine, with adequate settings.
Yes, some Olympus cams may be something 'siao siao' or so but come to the individual camera, I don't find it a problem, if its within its design limit.
The photo, within design limit, settings, may be not.

My cam, almost two years liao. Set aside all the prejudice and 'superior' thoughts about DSLRs, they are just cameras, nothing more. Screw up the settings and get the same s-hit. Its just that it gives the user a small little buffer. Thats why, never think that the DSLR is so much more owning than the humble compact, give a expert he can own anyone else with a compact.
The thing is, learn, and its whether the learning gets in or not. -
