BCs playing with bus?

  I've seen MKIV BCs try to keep their bus going at 1st gear and the sound produced is quite horrible.
  
  I've also seen B9TL BCs die-die must reach 6th gear on main roads even if it means making at the last minute. Although honestly I really like that.
  
  Strangely these seem to be the only 2 types I've seen where the BC do such things.
  
  Or should I say this demonstates the flexibility of the ZF gearbox?

  That's not playing... it's a standard safety protocol to sound their horn before reversing.

  I thought all sbs buses are already autogear ? How to play with the gear since it is already auto ?

  the only way i can think of playing with gear is
  
  1) u hit N R then N then D for nothing
  
  2) u hit D then hit 2 to preselect 2 then drive at gear 2 all he way...for nothing
  
  3) u hit D then hit 1 to...
  
  4) u thi D then hit 3...

  There aren't any semi auto gearboxes in SG city buses . All are fitted with fully Automatic gearboxes . Those "1" , "2" , "3" buttons are manual overide functions .

  That would explain why I ever encountered a VSO in 1st gear all the way. I believe it was 9844Z on 161.

  The gear control for B10TLs have only D N R select modes. No manual overrides unlike LO3X and O405s.
