City Shopper Premium Services

  8 new City Shopper premium services from SBS Transit will commence from Saturday, 15th December 2007, bringing heartlanders to Orchard and Suntec City in comfort.
  
  551: Hougang Plaza/Ave 8/Ang Mo Kio Ave 3
  575*: Bedok South Rd/Ave 3/North Rd (via PIE/CTE)
  576*: Tampines Ave 7/4/St 81
  577: Ang Mo Kio Ave 9/4/3/10
  578: Compassvale St, Punggol Rd then 163 route till YCK Rd (via CTE)
  579: Tampines St 41/Ave 9/2/Simei St 3 (thanks to tip off from 28_29_293)
  580: Teban Gardens Rd/West Coast Rd till Varsity Park (via AYE/Outram/Paterson Rd)
  581: Punggol Central/East/Field (via TPE/CTE)
  
  Stops in town are:
  * Far East Plaza (except 580)
  * Heeren
  * Orchard Plaza (after OG Cuppage)
  * MacDonald House (between PS and Cathay)
  * NTUC Income Centre
  * Raffles Hotel
  * Suntec Convention Centre
  * Suntec Tower 2 (for 551, 577, 578 & 581)
  * Centennial Tower (for 575, 576, 579 & 580)
  
  Operation hours:
  10am to 4.30pm on weekdays, 10am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays
  Fare: $3.30 for adults ($3.60 for 578 and 581), $1 for child/students
  
  * Service 575 and 576 does an endless loop, hence on its return trip, a "Terminating" sign will be put and only alighting is possible. It also does not call at the first stop out of TPE i.e. Blk 370 along Tampines Ave 7, instead it calls at Opp Tampines JC.

  I am surprised by the numbering. Thought the number continues from after 548 onwards consecutively. The numbering jump from 551 to 576 and 577 instead. These Orchard premiums are postponed till 15 Dec from last saturday.

  Interesting, since the operation hours are 10am - 4.30pm, wouldn't be likely to use x-over buses like the Premium services. Unless they insert a T shift during the SWING S shift period like 192/194 style.

  Definitely a crossover-type service. Same as Chinatown Direct.
  
  Soon we will know which buses are providing the crossover buses.

  Service 551 uses xovers from S27. Perm fleet is of course 3 S27 buses.
  
  They will operate like Chinatown direct, AM Peak do basic service then 10am do CS.
  
  I'm expecting Sengkang to have 1 service and Punggol to have another one. the e-tt has some Sengkang/Punggol services that have a MISSING PM Peak split duty.

  Really depends on the shoppers lah. They can decide on either time or comfort... money not issue here since they going to spend the money on shopping anyway.

  Wonder why 9090G is a loner in 502... they should even out the SD : DD ratio during weekends.
