I wonder why SBS didn't let it run during peak hours on weekdays. If it did, many officer workers working in Orchard or Suntec area could take the bus home, instead of squeezing in the MRT....

1. Non-compliance with the PBS guidelines as it would duplicate the Rapid Transit System at comparable fares. Same thing for Chinatown Direct. Last sunday when I took 143 (full trip) past the shopping districts it took almost 30 minutes to clear just the Orchard area.
My mum happens to work as Takashimaya and whenever my father fetches her down to Taka (by car) we make use of the Cairnhill Circle Exit... last Saturday we entered the exit at 1.10pm, and reached Taka at 1.55pm.
Normal journey (without jams) takes 5 minutes.

Do you know if there are empty PM slots and buses from SLBP? In any case, 502 is good enough. With cheaper express fares somemore.

PM slots are normally filled up.. Because defintely if public tpt is made attractive, more ppl would take public tpt instead of driving.. It goes well to the env as well

If u r coming out from CTE, chances that it is very difficult for you to filter right to the right more lane to turn into cairnhill rd.. there is double white line ,just after the exit . If you happen to pass by that area, take a look and you will know.. -

I thank SBSt for considering my suggestion for
1) the sengkang via hougang to orchard fast service. but it was good idea to split the idea into 3 services.
2) and also very happy to my suggestion for a revivial of old sbs138 now back as 577. (hee hee)
these services will save fares (bus transfer to MRT is around 330 de) and also save traveling time. and u get a guarantee seat.
it is of note that old 163 used to go town. perhaps an extension of 163 to town would had been suitable. haha

Hmm ... I wonder why SBS Transit numbered their services. Just discovered when I was travelling along YCK Road.
From Jalan Kayu, towards AMK, it's SBST 578
From AMK, towards Jalan Kayu, it's SMRT 857
Direct competition it seems.
I've calculated. For example even if you live on the other side of YCK Road and must transfer to 857 to reach to the "correct side", it only costs S$1.96. Compare that to SBST's S$3.60.
But if you're a small kid, it's between 80 cents (Zero if you applied bus pass) and $1 (Still $1 if you have bus pass).
