Anyway, summary of recent Volvo transfers:
SBS 0911 Y
SBS 0922 R
SBS 0965 S
SBS 2754 X
SBS 2826 Y
All from AMDEP XXX to BNDEP SP.
I think by the end of this week more Volvos could go over BNDEP.
Phew... SBS 2812 L shall be the last Volvo Mk 4 to left AMDEP please!!!! If the old man is really _______ enough to do so.... =(

Which service was it on today? It arrived 10 plus pm for overnight parking at Tampines Int. SBS911Y is also doing overnight parking at Tampines Int tonight.

As long as the Nokia contract is still ongoing, and the redeployments occur within the depot, then it should be alright.
I am shocked with the number of Mark IV volvo buses being transferred to BN.
What are the possiblities ?
- Excess buses at AMK ? Now that AMK has a number of k230ubs both at BR and AMK.
- New Premier services to be introduced in the east area
-AMK depot to concentrate on maintaining only Mercedes and Scania Single deck buses?
-Volvo Mark IVs replacing some of the Going to be scrapped N113CRBs?
AM and BR drivers in general prefer Mercedes and LO to Volvo's as they feel they're more powerful yet steering is stable (as in won't wobble if you let go of the steering wheel).
Even VSO they don't like cos they say it lags when you start from zero out of bus stop, not as responsive and very dangerous. Of course bus interior is new but they are used to more responsive vehicles.
That probably explained why these Volvo buses are first candidates to be considered for transfer from AM to BN. Of course, operationally, it might be due to the retirement of Scania's or introduction of new services which I won't know, but I'm not too surprised at the choice, but at the exodus of so many buses beyond my expectation.

I have a feeling we may see more AMDEP services with K230s then we can expect. I have a feeling service 162 is one of the candidates for Scania K230s. Simply because service 162 serves: Ang Mo Kio / Bishan / Sin Ming / Orchard Road / Suntec City / Shenton Way.
Apart from Orchard and Shenton Way, no other places have Scania K230s.
However, my thesis only may apply.. IF.. the Scania K230 won't run aground on these roads. ![]()
makes common sense.
BR or AMDEp have many extra merc pop out from the K230Ub-ing of 238, 60 and 63. so they find themselves with an excess of buses. what they could have rather done is pop the mercs over to SLBP to help them cope with the going of the 1853 1892 and 1894 in the future but they din do. which is crap.
what they did was rather mad. they pop mark 4s and in some instances back, to BNDEp. what for upgrade service 55 with so much redeployment effort when now u want to de-volvo-lise s55 , at the rate its going. really no common sense.
from what i can see form BR actions, it will seem that they want to scania-lise more services. maybe good?

I think is normal la.. They got to replace those old Scania in BNDEP. Just strange that why BNDEP like no new Scania yet. But I think is better to take the Volvo than the Scania la, cos more seats/less vibrating and accelerate faster..
For SLBP, the fleet are quite stable because most of the MK2 are transferred out earlier then there are no need for any addition buses with the SP buses from Svc 174 and for that they transferred away the DM3500 to BBDEP for them to cover the MK2 there.
Simple logic for the latest redeployment.. all think too much..
The Scania Ns are due in Nov (1st bulk of them). There's still quite sometime before they start to do any redeployment with regards to that.
amdep has a whole lot of Scania Ks. With excess buses they will push them to bndep, where else man. However, amdep currently has a temp shortage of buses unless the Scania Ks hiding in amdep are able to commerce revenue service by/the week after CNY.
and one more very important point.. Scania Ks are not able to enter bndep because the road is too bumpy! bndep needs to get its road resurfaced before they allow Scania Ks to enter the depot, let alone running on bndep's services. Dont believe me? Go 'bio' outside bndep one fine afternoon and see the road condition, especially near the bus wash and workshop area.

Scania got a much lower bumper than B9TL? Wat about SBS 8033D? The bumper seems to be higher?
