Those SMRT buses that do not have fury seats: CAC Nissan UDs (except TIB1250X, TIB1251T, TIB1252R), UK Lances, Merc Volgrens and Hino Volgrens. smrt bus hygiene worst den sbs buses, especially their merc O405 CAC, jus take a look at their windows caked wif dust and roaches running around! Especially 858 plys changi PTB 1,2,3 to WDL, Rear seats gt 3 adult roach and 2 baby ones!! Dun even dare to seat, stand for half an hour while 858 rumbles on xpressway! Try beating their fury seats(cover ur nose b4 doin tat)!

Some spottings yesterday...
1157H again on 190, the seats should not be as dusty as the last time...
1029U the last bus, jam packed 102 percent full (second step standing), passed by Orchard MRT around 2350hrs... NR3 TIB96?? was beside it and five pax on board. It also overtook the bendy after turning out.
Solution? Dun deploy downroute NR3, let the first bus from CCK loop back. Increase 190 bus shifts until all buses turn around. Besides you still have to return to depot from NBR right?... Within working hour limit tt is.
That should make the last bus around 0030 plus, which should suffice the returning crowd. Any more have to take NR3 liao... -

Only until TIB 1083 L (Service 190) came then I can board, and by the next stop, the bus became "full house" again and caused a 5 minutes delay at that bus stop due to passengers overflowing
They should convert 80% of their current split shift bendies to full day or PM shift because the demands at night is simply went too overboard and insane until a passenger boarding the same stop as me, complained to the SL that he waited for half an hour before he can board. -_- -
TIB848D is usually on 961 and i took it on Monday and it seemed fine now. The place from where the air-con water drips ( the green color thing ) had been changed. Looked brand new,a shiny green colour.

LTA and PTC should do something about this service now ....
Not wait until 2009.... the poor service is unfair to CCK and Bt Panjang residents....

Public bus is a daily necessity, having roaches or dusty buses does not help -

I would rather have duo operator for that service, although my life does not depend on that, but one or two words may prove correct.
SBS Transit 25 buses, SMRT 25 buses, do it correctly and SMRT 'saves' 11 buses or more...
But when come to SMRT's planning, nia, again lots of problem... They may play back and deploy less, straining SBS Transit's loads... -

Although you are right to mention that taking the bus is a daily necessity, too bad, at the end of the day, profit is still the main objective. If SMRT were to contract out more frequent cleaning services, its going to put a strain on the company's budget and it might affect their plans for fleet renewals.
Now now, you certainly dont want that to happen right? Im sure you would enjoy new buses as much as I do. A few layer of dust is unlikely to kill the passengers right?
So before you ask for more cleaning services, please think of the poor SMRT shareholders who are going to receive lesser dividends all because you want to travel in a dust free environment.
PS: I think you should buy some SMRT shares, maybe after you do, you wouldnt really mind the dust too much. I went on board 969 today and was shocked at how long the queue was at Tampines Interchange. I also noticed that only SMRT bay terminals were flooded with long queues, strangely, SS transit bays had not many long queues... -

Yeah it's not my grandfather's co, but if it can't even put commuters 1st, sorry then it should give up running public utility facilities like public buses and MRT. If Mdm Saw say her co is providing world class transport, show it.
Such an company should not even be allowed to exist as a public transportation company. Even if your thinking is there, very likely SMRT will lose its routes like CMB in no time when the tendering kicks in. Since you say not really profitable, I wun want to bid for a bundle of profitable and non profitable routes
