  There are about 400 odd+ more MB O405s that haven't got their replacements. Last O405 goes off around 2009 or 2010. So SBST has to get ready all the replacements by then.

  more models = gd for us.
  but difficult for sbst cause = spare parts.
  
  so i guess sbs would get 2 models.
  scanias and this.
  
  to replace the outgoing scanias and merc.

  Actually B9TL alrdy replace MK2
  
  500 KUBs can replace CRBs and 300 O405
  
  Left 400 more O405 needs replacement + more buses for the 10 min rule to be mandatory in effect from 2009

  IMO B9TLs are just fleet additions to SBST fleet, you may say it is replacing some of the Mk2s indirectly. From the look of the deployments from hgdep after the introduction of K230UB, it looks clearer that the K230UB are actually the batch of buses that are replacing the Mk2s instead by removing the Mk3 and Mk4 from S64 and S100. The K230UB can also displace the CRBs too. Maybe MB O.405 WA verison.

  If thats so, then SBST needs to order even more to replace the remaining O405s. 500.

  dunno...if they are really happy abt thius bus, they might have a bulk order, so as to replace the merc that are going.

  200 K230 replace 200 MKII.
  200 K230 replace 200 N113CRB.
  Remaining 100 K230 replace 100 WA O405.
  
  Replacements are needed for 100 WA O405, 300 DM O405 and 200 DM CAC O405. So minimum needed is 600.

  Whatever it is, at least 400 buses are needed. Then like what sbst275 said, buses are also needed for 10-min frequency ruling that takes effect from don't know when... anyway if you calculate, at least 500 more buses are needed.
  
  Unless SBST introduce B9L as the next demo bus, if not highly likely SBST would order at least 400 more B7RLE (and anyway this demo is already very successful from the replies by other bus fans).
  
  Speaking of 8030L, do you guys think it should be allowed to do other SLBP services instead of solely 174?

  I think currently the BC that had been trained after the introduction of K230UB are from Svc 174. There are some from Svc 242(The tall guy), Express 502(That young BC who always drive on S-shift one).

  I mean like, if it only stays at one service then it defeats the purpose of being a demo. Might as well call it a normal WAB. I feel that demos should be allowed to ply different services to test it's performance on different services and not just stay put on 1 service. If need be, it can also ping pong around depots.

  Scania K230 has a rear overhang of 3310mm (from centreline of rear wheel to rear bumper)
  
  This Volvo B7 has a rear overhang of 3240mm (same method of measurement as the K230).
  
  Also from the B7 thread, someone mentions that the height clearance between the front bumper and ground got to be checked carefully.
  
  For general information, these are the height clearance:-
  
  K230 - Front bumper (till front wheel) - 250mm; Body clearance - 250mm
  B7 - Front Bumper (till front wheel) - 250mm; Body clearance - 250mm
  B9TL - Front Bumper - 305mm; After Bumper (before front wheel) - 250mm; Body - 250mm

  Yes! Considering that almost every depot has a WAB service to accomodate 8030L.

  Indeed . The B7 engine has 290BHP and 1200Nm of torque . The Scania only has 230Bhp and 1050Nm of torque .

  i dont think theres a need for a one-for-omne replacement for Scanias, Mercedes etc.
  
  with CCL opening, bus routes are going to be cut.. so there will be a reduction in buses running around

  Peanuts compared to OC500LE , if they choose the 12 litre version ofcuz. The minimal power for it will be 299BHP . Yes , 299Bhp for SD. Bendy is 354Bhp .

  By right they should start deploying newer buses when the DM Merz retire.
