Oh no 1105H...
Well like the saying goes, 'shit happens'...
Not to speculate whether the bus is going to be withdrawn, but looking from the damages...
Fire can happen this way. With smoke traveling up from the engine compartment, breeching (entering) the passenger compartment either from floor hatches or from the bodywork (high temperature), the smoke travels upwards and gets trapped in the aircon ducts and roof of the vehicle. At any time when oxygen become suddenly available, either opening of doors or with the roof collapsing, the smoke and toxic gases would likely ignite, called a flash-fire. Anywhere that has the gases, there will be instantaneous flames. These flames can be hot and without question, burn the roof of the bus.
Aircraft flash-fire happens the same way. Its just applying in a smaller scale.
Why do ex WLDEP 184 permers like to burn...first is 1110S, then now 1105H. Very deja vu, reminds me of the 1110S photo a few years ago.
Streats report in early 2004.
Are bendy buses prone to fire? TIB1118X also caught fire in Clementi Rd last year, but was saved
Ah good bye to 1110S again, the old old photo...
1118X fire damage quite concentrated on the left side (while looking front) and these things are whether they are economical or not to 'save' the vehicle.
Think more of didn't top up enough water at the radiator,Bendy buses use more water than rigids.Another reasons to deploy OC500LEs faster than schedule or buy few WAB Bendies.

unless LTA say can then can buy bendies leh...

just wondering for SBST DD, do they have the same think. I mean like used more water that SD buses?
It would be logical to think that the bigger the engine, the more water (and fuel of course!) that it uses. Yes a VO engine might only be 9607cc in capacity, but the added stress and most importantly, heat, is where takes the water away.
Water is used to cool the engines. The hotter the engine, the more water it would consume.
There are fuel consumption rates listed in engine specifications but not water consumption, at least not a certain amount as it mainly depends on the usage and temperature of the running engine.

Lay-up starts W.E.F. today.
And I thought, looking at the condition of the rear should be enough to warrant it a one-way ticket to the scrapyard.

dunno why. it is different with a 3-piece windscreen, but at the same time, that thing makes it look somehow ugly at the front. spoil the whole bus
TIB1238H etc also have the 3 piece windscreen

I would like to clarify that diesel engine isn't a steam engine, it doesn't consume water at a steady pace. Just that, its more like a tire. Over time, water will escape the cooling system in the form of steam. As water escapes, the coolant (in this case, is water) level drops. If the driver or mechanic or technician failed to top up the water level, the engine will soon overheat and catches fire.
An engine's cooling system consists of alot of pipings, like your average housing's aircon piping system. Along this pipings there are sealants/seals when theres a pipe connection. If any of this seal is leaking or faulty, water can escape the system. Thats why some buses always got a problem of "empty water tank" much faster than other buses.
Another note to take of, when i say steam, its like water vapour. Not those kind of boiling water when you boil water at home. If the water in the cooling system boils at 100 degrees and changes into steam rapidly, the cooling system will burst/explode. Cooling system cannot withstand high pressures.
Ah thanks for the clarification.
Guess I wasn't too specific on the thing, scared someone might misunderstand and say why VO consumes water haha...
TIB1089X, TIB1105H, TIB1177A, TIB1238H are those with 3 piece windscreen, and either 1148J or 1149G.

1148J. but TIB1089X not that visible. 1089 is powerful...

1177A just installed 3-pc windscreen? I took a pix of it a few weeks ago; was the original 1-pc windscreen..
