SBS2597H was involved in an accident while on its perm service 196 at Esplanade Bridge. It was heading towards Bedok Int when it happened. Apparently, it stopped at the bus stop and a lorry whacked straight into its back. Two SBST recovery vehicles seen around the area, pax all got off. Damage looks serious, might be out of service for some time. Was on SBS3797R on 57 when I witnessed this accident, time of witness about 6pm. No indication of any injuries.

Yeah, I also saw the accident, was about the same time on service 196, SBS7382C, heading Bedok. Damage to lorry was much limited to the cab, the rear panel of the bus was at most dented, the glass in fact held and the rear service plate was still in place.
The broken glass on the ground possibly came from the lorry's front windscreen. The Alexander bodywork held the impact quite well.

Its not the first. Its just that accidents in depots are usually covered up / not released to public.
In actual fact many depot accidents are very minor. Most accidents only involved a bus kissing another bus at the rear, breaking the rear window.
Today
TIB1187X broke down at the bus stop just before WRI, suspected to be on 900 because the ex TIB1049L SL was outside the bus and coincidentally there was a Volgren Bendy cameo on 900 when I checked earlier on during the day.
Spotted at 6:32pm. EDS was off. SMRT technicians were there
Replacement bus is TIB1066L. Coincidentally TIB1066L had broke down on 900 a month ago too ![]()

Saw a KUB on 24 at Upp Paya Lebar Rd at 8.56pm. Bus is with VR10 ad. Recovery truck in front.
TIB1195Y broke down opposite Kim San Leng coffee shop at Bukit Pajang Road, towards CCK direction. Service unknown. Time spotted was about 1706hrs. Engine cover opened, no visible damage.
SBS2806E 10. Accident with a car driven by one artise featured on the Hua Yu Cool advert. Damage minor (actually is negligible) but the car bonnet was bent. No Breakdown ticket issued. Got 15 minutes delay instead.
SBS670S brokedown at the junction of Hougang Ave 5, Upp Serangoon Rd and Hougang Central. BC seen on bus, tow truck arrived not long later, but not before going to HG Int. Traffic was havoc there.. Many accidents NEARLY happened.

But there are serious depot accidents which are uncommon. EG: Driving a MK IV DM3500 into a pit dug into the ground during renovations in BNDEP (During IMF). That MK IV DM3500 belonged to sv 36...
P.S: Does that account for the regular cameo of SBS1706S on 36 during the IMF? LOLx.
sbs3918J on tow by a sbst truck at Boon Lay Int due to engine problem
A leyland was towed by a SBST tow truck along Hougang ave 3 yesterday.maybe it was being towed towards AMDEP.couldnt see the rego as we were on the opposite side of the road.

SBS2597H is back in service today on 8. Streaks of paint at the back of the bus are coming out, but bus looked okay.
That junction, always have bus parallel turning... Near misses always.
SBS9531B (on s69) had a tyre explosion slightly after 5 this evening, one stop after Bedok Interchange towards Tampines. Rear non-drive axle right tyre exploded, collapsing inside the rims. The bus captain was looking at the damage. No other vehicles involved and no visible damage to the bus.

This is sort of expected.as my father told me,older buses bodies are stronger.and he also told me that they are more solid also.this strider accident is a classic example of how older buses bodies are always strong and it also shows that older buses bodies dont give way that easily no matter how much force or impact is put against them.thumbs up to SBS2597H.i salute it.

The front middle portion above the rego was taken off and the long connector(i dont know what they call it) from the tow truck was connected at that middle portion above the rego.the mechanic wearing orange uniform was standing beside the driver cabin and talking to the driver.the front door was left opened while SBS3918J was being towed.BTW,SBS3918J is back in svc 194 today.i was very releived when i saw it.haha.
