SBS 467M [SL SP] on 242 went off service along Jurong West St 91 at 10:38am. Bus no acceleration. BC seen talking to OCC & slowly "rolled" the bus to BNL int because there's still 1 passenger onboard.

SBS 8495D on 36A broke down at the middle lane of Stamford Rd at the junction of St Andrew's Rd. Seen with recovery truck behind at 1.20am.
Rolled?
A Nissan UD on 178 and a car met in an accident at about 5.55pm at W'lands Rd, causing jam. All those 170 buses could not u-turn as the whole lane was block by the accident. The 170 buses were full of people, until entrance door steps. The 178 passengers were seating in the bus. I didn't see the rego but its a CAC UD, think its TIB1251T. Its back right bottom smashed by the car.
Sad. If WLDEP don't want to repair, then the bus might go lay-up.

The bad thing about buying and using swing plug doors instead of sliding plug doors is that even though they are cheap, they tend to give a lot of problems, since it is using the same technology as the normal doors.

Those are sliding doors, specifically pneumatic sliding doors. Sliding plug doors are found on the newer Enviro 500s and on most new high speed trains.
Basiling has a video of sliding plug doors.

and another of a swing plug door

SBST shld hav sliding plug doors on new buses, as swing plug door will create problems such as unable to close properly.

Still ok but the bumper and engine cover dented badly.
There was a DM3500 on 162M which I saw today at Dhoby Ghaut. At first when I saw the bus, the front was very low, so the first thing which came to my mind was the front suspension got problem. But when I saw the rear axle of the bus, I realised that it was the rear axle with the problem. It was exceptionally high, with the gap betwen the top of the tire and bus body being at least 6 to 8 inches apart. The entire bus was slanted to the front and it moved without an problem. Anyone can enlighten me with the actual problem of it, or it wasn't a problem at all?
TIB1034D on 190 broke down at Bukit Panjang Road, just before opposite Zhenghua Primary School bus stop, at 835pm today.
Bus had started blowing out toxic smoke at Far East Plaza at 810pm. Was about to board it but the bus was full and didnt pick up anyone.
BC came down to check if there is anything wrong and continued driving slowly back towards Choa Chu Kang.
Finally broke down at 835pm. "OFF SERVICE".

Possibly because the driver played with the kneeling function, and forgot to raise it back (DM3500 no auto levelling).

most likely e mechanics gave new suspensions for that bus. after some time, e springs shld go back to their original positions. i've seen such situations bef, except that mostly it was e front that went up.

Its not whether bus manufacturers have or not, but whether bus companies want or not. Bus manufacturers can just simply outsource their doors (which they seem to always do) to others to manufacture.
