Accident or Breakdown Thread 2008

Hard to gauge directly cause 8074 case its on a much more open road and possibly higher speeds. Being on the safe side, this case might involve about 20 - 30 km/h impact speed. Taking a bendy's emergency deceleration the alert point to impact point might be quite short. It is common to see buses trying to turn to the middle lane to avoid the cars dropping off passengers in the morning or buses waiting to off-load their passengers.
And the accident happened this morning (03rd Dec), so night have not come yet when this post is created (or when the post of the accident was made).

from e looks of it, 1172M can be fixed, as in they install new orange-coloured EDS like some other bendies use. however, e extent of e dents could show that it may take quite sometime for it before it returns to svc.
Yesterday:
An adless Habit on 190 breaking along PIE (left Stevens R exit for abt 200/+ m bef breaking down) at 615pm. Highway patrol assisted in escorting passengers to another waiting 190, also a habit.

Serious bus accident at Clementi MRT bus stopSTOMPer Val witnessed this dramatic bus accident at a bus stop at Clementi MRT this morning (Dec 03). A car and two buses were involved in the pile-up.Here's what he witnessed:"These two buses crashed into each other near a Clementi MRT bus stop."The first bus, SMRT service number 189, hit a car in front of it. Then a Bendy Bus behind it, service number 106, was unable to brake in time and slammed into the rear of the first bus."The back of bus 189 was badly smashed with its rear window shattered. Bus 106's windscreen was completely cracked and its bumper was severely damaged."According to bus 189's Bus Captain, he had stopped before the bus stop as there were already two buses waiting in the bay."He also said that seven passengers had sustained injuries. I saw some blood stains on the floor near the entrance of bus 106 as well.
"When I spoke to him he broke down in tears and said that he had been driving SMRT buses for 20-30 years and this was his first accident. He told me he wished everyone involved a speedy recovery."The accident also posted in Stomp -

at least the glass used was tampered glass so upon impact it doesn't shatter into pieces..

SBS2988M broke down at Queensway toward Jurong East at about 6:50pm. The bus had encountered trouble earlier at Orchard Rd and Grange Rd when the engine suddenly shut, but the bus was still able to move off. At Queensway though, BC talked to OCC and declared breakdown. The two buses behind, 8155K and 2992A were able to take on all affected passengers.
Oh and Kenryk (Lameomaster) was with me.

1: Cars like to stop there to pick up/drop off passengers. I have been on many buses, most of which almost get into accidents. Almost smashed into the windscreen when the svc 52 braked really hard. I was trying to get to a seat.
2. SMRT buses here are either driven by chiongsters or are very packed, leading to near-accidents or in this case, accidents.

SMRT buses had tighter schedules also...that resulted into choinging rides

SBS2679E On 151 brokedown at about 0830 hours at Dunearn Rd. 30 minutes later, the bus went back to normal and was Off Service back to the depot. -

SBS654P [BN 14] on off service (with full svc 14 destos) broke down at left turn zebra crossing at clementi ave 6 from AYE ( I mean the place where svc 185 turns left from clementi ave 6). Witnessed it at 12.30pm
The breakdown cause minor jam [ like those morning peak ones ] coz the freq of the traffic light there too fast
wonder what is that BNDEP bus doing there since it's from the direction of BBDEP
