Ya I find some bus services making one whole big round around an area wasting time... like to route here and there.Originally posted by Y_Shun:I hope theres more direct buses so that we don't have to tour here and there and waste time when it is already wasted on traffic lights.
You mean 811?Originally posted by Oceane:Ya I find some bus services making one whole big round around an area wasting time... like to route here and there.![]()
Yishun one is up to the Govt Boards when they want to start the "Rejuvenating Communities in Middle-Age Estate" Project...Originally posted by Oceane:Actually I'm quite surprised Yishun wasn't mentioned as one of the upcoming air-con interchanges. What happened? Plan failed?![]()
Ya... 811 is one of them. Turn right out of INT then going past the industrial estate, crosses AVE 2 and heads to Chong Pang. After which, it turns left opposite Yishun MRT Station (instead of right) into AVE 2 and turns right, past the industrial estate, by which turning out after the CC and finally reaches the terminal.Originally posted by n4l:You mean 811?
Stupid bus took me on a tour around Yishun when I took the wrong direction (I simply assumed it was a loop service and that even if I took it from the wrong direction...it wouldn't kill) and assumed wrongly 2 times that the bus will take me into the interchange.
Wasted 40 minutes of my life.
ya but they should put the Yishun int in the newspapers mah?Originally posted by brotherchen1982:Yishun one is up to the Govt Boards when they want to start the "Rejuvenating Communities in Middle-Age Estate" Project...

That means... you took 811E instead?Originally posted by n4l:Thanks Oceane.
But I don't intend to visit Yishun often. Other than transit for buses to Woodlands or just the area around the MRT Station.
If its a friend's house, I trust him to give me the EASIEST direction...hahaha.
The time which I took 811 was because I had to go to the industrial estate...
Yeah, if like this I think I'm gonna lose faith in the LTA...Originally posted by chocolates-xed:ya but they should put the Yishun int in the newspapers mah?
later really like what brotherchen1982 says that PLAN failed

No...I took the normal 811. It said loop at Sembawang Rd...so I thought, okay, Sembawang Rd quite near...I assumed it will just go right into the interchange...who knowsOriginally posted by Oceane:That means... you took 811E instead?
811E not too bad la... it's route assures that the bus returns to the interchange within 23 - 25 minutes.
Originally posted by Oceane:Erm, technically u cant classify the 811 (former 805) as 811E. The E only stands for Terminating at Interchange and only every 1 out of 2 buses towards that side of the route has the E sign.
Actually right, if you want to take feeder/intratown into some parts of Yishun very easy. Yishun is labelled into 3 sections, Central, East and South.
800 - East crossover to Central (N2N7)
804 - East (N2 & N3)
806 - Central (N4)
811 - East (N1, N2, N3 and industrial estate)
811E - South (N8 & some parts of N6)
812 - Central (N6)
812E - East (N1 & N7)
Then where did you board?Originally posted by n4l:No...I took the normal 811. It said loop at Sembawang Rd...so I thought, okay, Sembawang Rd quite near...I assumed it will just go right into the interchange...who knows.
Well I know but that route means 811E's route because it terminates at the interchange. Because there's no definite indication of the difference between the 2 sections of 811's route. Cannot say Section A Section B mah.Originally posted by XiaoTaro:Erm, technically u cant classify the 811 (former 805) as 811E. Opposite some factory.Originally posted by Oceane:Then where did you board?
haha... can use former service no. alsoOriginally posted by Oceane:Well I know but that route means 811E's route because it terminates at the interchange. Because there's no definite indication of the difference between the 2 sections of 811's route. Cannot say Section A Section B mah.![]()

811's frequencly quite irregular. For the southern route 2 buses will appear within 2-3 minutes of each other; 1 with 811 details another with 811E terminating at Yishun INT. However the next 811 bus will be 15 minutes.![]()
I see... for this type my advice is to always go back where you came from. Most feeders/intratowns in Singapore uses this P-loop style whereby they loop after a certain section and eventually end up on the opposite side after doing the loop, forming this P-loop shape route. So it's best to take the bus back to where you came from.Originally posted by n4l:Opposite some factory.
When I went there I didn't take 811, cause I came from WDLs. But when I went home from Industrial Park, I took 811...wanting to go to Central...who knows.
The loop is quite big yeah...Originally posted by XiaoTaro:haha... can use former service no. also![]()
True that the frequency is horrible at times, but cant blame as the 811 to Yishun North (former 801) goes thru quite a number of schools. Always packed to the door when i wait for the bus at Northpoint.
Yishun shld really really have something that is like 410 in bishan. There's already a nicely planned Ring (Yishun Ring Road) and there shld be a new service to run thru the loop (without going thru the interchange). This will really really save time to go from one side of yishun to another (e.g chong pang to 8xx). LTA read this!

This is how Yishun intratowns work:Originally posted by tanjun:Pardon me for the bad drawings here. I notice that in normal routine, the BC will do either the red line or the blue line indicating 811 (while travelling on the route) first followed by the latter indicating 811E. I am not sure if there are special cases to this routine.
1. Red (811) Yishun Blue(811E) Yishun
2. Blue (811) Yishun Red (811E) Yishun
Oh I see. Cos normally when I take 812 to the interchange from Yishun SAFRA, 812 will always change into 812E. Perhaps I am wrong.Originally posted by Oceane:This is how Yishun intratowns work:
1 bus departs from interchange after doing -BREAK-, doing 811 (EAST). The next bus, however, comes from 811 (SOUTH). And so this pattern continues; 1 from rest and another from southern loop. As for buses in the southern loop, they will all come from eastern loop. However 1 bus shows 811 while another shows 811E. To derive this, the bus with 811 comes from doing eastern loop (first round), which means before doing eastern loop it does -BREAK-.
811E buses also come from the eastern loop, but it's the second round instead.
To make it simple,
Let the bus in this example be Bus A.
Bus A:
1) Starts from interchange after doing 10-min break
2) Does eastern loop.
3) Returns into interchange and goes immediately to southern loop. EDS will still say 811.
4) After doing southern loop, goes back into interchange for a 10-minute break (with passengers onboard).
5) Starts 2nd round of eastern loop.
6) Returns into interchange, this time EDS is changed into 811E.
7) Does southern loop.Returns into interchange.
9) -BREAK-
For such buses, their usual timetables will be like this:
*TIME* T1 Yishun INT
*TIME* Looping point for first part of route
*TIME* T1 Yishun INT
*TIME* Looping point for second part of route
*TIME* T1 Yishun INT
*TIME* Looping point for first part of route
*TIME* T1 Yishun INT
*TIME* Looping point for second part of route
*TIME* T1 Yishun INT
--- BREAK ---
So such buses will enter the interchanges and out 4 times before doing a break.
