The actual reason (as mentioned by Victor) is that WLDEP don't have any more of those original EDS. Otherwise, it takes only a few days to fix a EDS on the bus and WLDEP can just choose any bus they want to feature it. They don't need to lay up a bus to change it's EDS one.
Wonder what will AMDEP put onto it's buses; we have LAWO for WLDEP and Transit Media for KJDEP. -
Funny thing is that BNDEP didn't lay-up 2830J in which it's condition was worse off than 0565U; practically the rear-half of the right side was gone after the accident. 0565U only front gone but WLDEP went to do lay-up procedures for it.

prior to this accident at lentor,
tib 565u had caused a major accident along wdl ave 3. it came out
on the news as well...

Its quite sad that in the case of KJ, they abandoned the hope of repairing 696A in lieu of the fire of 1118X.
And if you would put it in some way, 696A was deregistered soon after 1118X went into lay up... -

I believe they will use it for spare parts just in case another one pops up. You see ah, 0696A only front gone when it slam into the pillar after e-way while on 985. Back still fine. An hour or two after I received Oceane's sms, I immediately rushed off to Geylang Lorong 1 to catch a picture of it.
But better luck for me next time.
The photo I took was not a good one. Worse still, my memory card became corrupted even before I were to upload the photos onto the computer. So bo bian, I did not have a choice but to format it. The photo is now gone.

The lance you saw with Hispano front grille , not the whole front , is TIB939A
