I want to ask...
Is there any service 98 that loops at Corporation place, skipping 2 bus-stops ?
This bus MUST be empty... -
According to JE route group...the 2 stops that 98A pass (the one at AYE and outside Taman Jurong Shopping Ctr (Sheng Shiong)...can be use for boarding and alighting..so lao aunty and ah gong can wait for 98A to and at sheng shiong to do marketingOriginally posted by azharjj:I want to ask...

they need not be empty, if there are passengers wanting to board.
Service 98 covers the full route from Jurong East Interchange via Jurong East Ave 1, to Lakeside Station, into Taman Jurong Estate down to Jurong Port Rd, to Jurong Port area and loop back via the same route in a vice-versa format.
Service 98A covers 3quarter of the route from Jurong East Interchange via Jurong East Ave 1 to Lakeside Station and down to Taman Jurong Estate...it then loops at the end of Taman Jurong Estate via Yung Ho Rd, Corporation Rd, AYE and back to Yung Ho Rd and has 2 additional stops (AYE and Sheng Shiong) that Service 98 does not cover..
If you are going to Jurong East Ave 1, Jurong West St 51, Lakeside Station and Taman Jurong Estate, you can take either Service 98 or Service 98A
If you are going to Jurong Port, Jurong Pier and Fishery Port Rd area, you can only take Service 98.
If you are going to the Sheng Shiong Hypermart, u can only take Service 98A.
To differentiate Service 98 and Service 98A, look at the bus..buses that are plying the Service 98A route will have a "A" suffix on the desto.
The buses alternate...one bus 98, then next one is 98A, then 98 then 98A etc. between 930 - 1630 and 2000 - 2400...
Service 98 operates between 0530 - 2400.
Service 98A operates between 0930 - 0030.
Service 98 and Service 98A is a FULLY AIRCON service.

Perhaps service 98 can adopt service 315 and 317 way of differentating by inserting red and white cards in a small slot in front of the driver seat. It is really confusing just to differentiate by looking at the side plates only. Besides, some BCs have forgotton to change the side direction indicating the correct direction while in a hurry.

All svcs that go to Jln Bahagia does that
~ One big red or white plate at the front depending on destination..
131, 124, 125, 139, 186, 21...
If you often use these routes or live there, you'd know..so it doesn't actually confuse people much. Unless you're just going there once or twice or for the first time, then its usually better to ask around. -

I know last time, before they used the side destos in the front of bus, they used to have a small "IN" and "OUT" green sign at the front of the bus.
IN representing going into the terminal, out the opposite.

They should follow the 177 method. Beside the driver seat, the SLs will hang a handwritten sign saying where the bus is headed. Its either "Bukit Batok, MRT "or "Bukit Panjang". There is even the chinese translation. It makes everything very clear, even for a first-timer.
