I have two theories
one is that M may denote any shortened trip that deviates from the original route of the parent at some point of time.
the other is that it will help differentiate between SWTs operating only at peak hours (66A/66B) and SWTs that operates beyond peak hours (ex-98A, ex-162X).
at the same time, it standardises the letters of SWTs operating beyond peak hours (instead of just A, X, # and etc, now there is only M). -
E for express; what about 911E?
i think should have let svc 98A, 123B, 163A remained as it was; can't see any rationale in renaming to M.
hope SMRT also follow suit - 853C? 961C? 925C?

imo dey shdnt chuse 'm' cuz a bit of confusion...'x' is still beta...smrt shd use 'x' 2... -

Since 70M, 98M, 103M, 107M, 123M, 162M, 163M, 182M ply on different route from their parent routes...

svc 182 is not using the "M" suffix. Its still using the old "Tuas Checkpoint" desto when I saw it during CNY eve.

The bus that goes Tuas Checkpoint is 182. 182M does not go to Tuas Checkpoint.

182M uses 182 front(new fonts only) & rear destos except the side desto is 182M...

an MBO405 DM on Sv 162 (i think it is SBS364) was using Sv 162 desto (front/side/back) last sunday (10 feb).
