i know, but SBST275 is asking to introduce a limited stop service (151C) from toa payoh to NUS. Not me. There is FFW151E, but students are not taking, cos they cant use concession pass. So i dun think SBST will introduce another limited stop service from TPY to NUS. If they introduce, then those NTU/SP/NP/SIM or whichever school ppl, will ask SBST to introduce one service from each housing estate?
If tat's the case, then it's not going to be good to their PR
They're willing to think out of the box for NTU (179A) on the excuse being short route. Have they thought abt ppl waiting 25 mins for 151 at Bt Timah/ Clementi Rd?
If they're profit oriented for these cases, nothing is going to be solved and the whole day Sv 151 is going to get into ST Forum frequently for the wrong reasons.
Downroute can solve some of the problem but the current situation oftenly still means long waiting time and the packed 151 would arrive 1st just bef the downroute starts

then what do u wan SBST to do actually? do u think introduce 151C will solve the problem? does SBST have to give 3 mins frequency for Sv 151 from 6am to 10 pm so as to satisfy you? but in that case, buses will bunch, and then u will complain, just like what u have complain abt bunching in Sv 74.

As for Macpherson, you started by saying at 1st place 151 should not be introduced. By withdrawing it, many ppl along many stretches or travel pattern would be affected which incl Macpherson. If you said no comments, then in the 1st place that comment should not be there
Actually it's the schedule does not reflect the true situation (My prev post, 1 bus supposed to arrive KR at 0923, yet at 0907 it's still at Aft Sixth Ave bus stop) rather than crowded area I suppose.
sv74 frequency erratic? it is due to the frequency and also traffic condition at marymount/lornie rd/bukit timah rd.
as for Sv151, i did not say anything abt the withdrawal NOW. I was talking abt in 1994/95. If SBS does not Introduce Sv 151 THEN (in 1994/95) to NUS, then no complains will be heard.. All students just have to find their way to Clementi to take SV 96. Before that (94/95), there is also no bus from Macpherson to Hougang mah. So why are you talking abt the inconvenience to passengers at different sectors?
so ultimately, you still think that SV 151C will solve the problem right? i dun think so.
walk out to Clementi Road..delete the Kent Ridge Cres sector and dump in some of the crappy Batch 1s and make them happy la..best from 197 or SP and provide 197 with something like good Batch 2s or 3s...197 is the depots dumping grounds..
HGDEP and BBDEP should deploy all the DDs on all of their non 151e S Shift slots...
no need 151C just extend 151A to Jalan Toa Payoh..CONSTRAINT: it would be quite troublesome when they OFF SVC back to Kent Ridge
dun wanna walk out? jolly well wait lo..

Tat's then, alrdy the service is in place, it's to look how to resolve instead of regretting wa last time why have 151, back then freq was somemore 3 - 10 mins for AM or 4 - 8 mins for PM... now is 7 - 13 mins (AM) 6 - 15 min (PM)
Like I've said, how they schedule it matters. You can use excuses of jam each time, but no one is going to believe it once it becomes a daily affair
Sv 151C would enter Toa Payoh New Town or even terminate at Bishan and runs limited stop along Bt Timah. It ends up resolve the crowding problem at Opp Trellis Twr in the morning. In fact, once a rude Sv 5 BC was horning on a Sv 151 bus which passengers were alrdy have difficulty in boarding

At least better than empty 151A running around, but would be better if buses could start from Toa Payoh/ Bishan New Town and get onto Jln Toa Payoh in the morning

You have already mentioned that they are partly a profit oriented company. So, do you think they will provide so many buses for 151 then ?
they are really pushing those who wants to sleep to 151e....

Wonder if there's any K230s depolys on 151e(like 174e) ![]()
Bus so crowded still dun wan to pay for FFW?... I dont mind paying 2.40 instead of 45cents if i can have a seat and relax through the journey

if you read about the forum, some students reported that the FFW not even express at all. only 10mins earlier than usual 151.
What it said about 151e being useless is quite true. its hardly express. same goes for 74e. more like they are more for "people who won't mind paying a bit more" for getting a less crowded bus with less stops.
151A is also not very useful. very few people take it.
but overall, 151 frequency has improved a lot over the last 1-2 years, and with more and more AC buses deployed

If 151e had used Bt Timah Rd it would have avoided the jam at PIE...

Not really the case. At times, the road condition along bukit timah road can be as bad or even worst then then PIE.
the forum is closed.
hahah
and the k230Ub virus has spread to 151..hohoho

Due to the fact that NAC Volvo MK2s are in the midst of phasing out and progressively replaced by Volvo MK3s and MK4s. Now left with 2 NAC buses (SBS1880X and SBS1893J). They should be gone within these 2 months.
Another good thing is that the new Scania K230UBs are also introduced on service 151 too.

Are those the limited-seats-type I see on the roads?? Same model as that serving the 238 route too!
Somehow I think they're kinda slow...lol.
I think SBS should just use a new route la. Clementi Road keep jamming. Haha...Why not have Hougang to somewhere like Buona Vista instead? Then can change to 95 (if 95 freq is good??)

But they are more comfy cos wider space, but compromise is lesser seats
They're alrdy on 151, because of this the NAC buses has apparently disappeared

Today took a joyride on service 151 (SBS8109U), and it seems that all the Volvo MK2s (regardless of all types) have disappeared on service 151 completely when I looked on the other side of the road thruout my journey. Make up of 5-6 Scania K230UBs and majority MK4 Striders. I wonder whether all the NAC/CAC MK2s were being replaced by the Scania K230UBs??
I believe that service 151 should have more than 1 Scania K230UB permers (apart from SBS8120K). Maybe someone can help to update sgwiki if got any latest information about the fleet, thanks ![]()
Btw service 151 last time had 1809, now have 8109 ![]()
Wah sbst275 even 'whack' SBST 151.Good God what do you want actually?Buses running at 1-2 mins frequencies?
