If follow Sv 200 route, that mean it will be merging with Sv 200 and the PTC website will definitely show this. I dun think PTC will allow it to follow Sv 95 route, as it duplicate completely. other possibilities will be via (1) AYE, (2) Dover Road.just wait and see. anyway, this was approved quite sometime back liao.. dunno when sBST will amend it?
Also, hopefully the frequency will improve, else those NUS students will complain again, if they have to wait 15 mins for sv 48.
Just get NUS students to spam 48 and sbst will know what to do automatically ![]()
99.9% it will go via Comonwealth Ave West and Clementi Road to Kent Ridge Terminal. It will provide another alternative for NUS students to travel to NUS via Dover MRT station.
I have ever suggested to SBST to provide a service to ply between Buona Vista Terminal and Kent RIdge via Commonwealth Ave West (Dover MRT) and Kent Ridge. It was rejected because the bus stop at DOVER MRT unable to cater to large crowd....
With amended SBST48, the bus frequency will definitely improved.

Clementi MRT Stn - 96/183
Buona Vista MRT Stn - 95
Dover MRT Stn - 48???
i believe bus 48 will now start from kent ridge interchange and will move through science stream and up buona vista mrt and then holland village before continuing its usual jouney which ends at upper east coast rd.

That would sound like 95 merging with 48 or 48 running parallel to 95 which i deem it as a low possibility of happening.

It needs to run parallel to 95 because i believe there are more complaints over bus 95's frequencies than bus 96. Bus 95 cant handle the student load from buona vista mrt but but 96 can handle the amount from clementi mrt better.
I don't thing getting 48 to run parallel to 95 can better handle the student load, bus frequency won't improve much. Getting 48 to run along Commonwealth Ave West provides new connections between Dover MRT and Kent Ridge. Besides transferring between MRT and Buses at Dover would be a breeze comparing making similar transfer at Clementi or Buona Vista.
I suppose it won't help much if the frequency is like 10 - 20 minutes.
unless they have short working trips like 48M ( Dover ---> Kent Ridge Terminal ) though.
I still secretly hope it can pass by clementi ave 2 -> West Coast Road -> Kent Ridge.. haha but it does not make economical / logical sense
surely 48 won't replace 95, at most duplicate.
48 and 95 will run parallel.
95 will be w/d and rename as 48M. At the same time with improve frequency.
Hows that ?
so there won't be any changes to sbst48?

There will be changes. I think SBST is trying to get enough drivers to operate on the route. They seemed to have enough buses but not enough drivers.
This move make upper east coast more empty and waste of $$$
