Okay. I was taking Bus 85 from Punggol Central to Yishun the other day at around 11.15pm. To cut things short, the bus driver had this weird habit of stopping at EVERY bus stop, leave the front door open for about 20 seconds, close back then drive off. Even at bus stops with NO PEOPLE. At first it unnerved us, after it just plain made us dulan at the time wasted. Anyone knows why the driver did it? Is he being so kind as to allow the "hao xiong di" to board to send them home home is it? -_-
he has the third eye mah
Bus too early....
reminds me of last the the CSS 608 that I took (the CSS DAF). When the bus haven't stopped at the bus-stop, the driver just open the door before it stops at the bus-stop...
Yesterday, I was on board Svc 165 (SBS 2635 G) then behind me was a guy from a sec sch from the north eastern side. He was drinking and wanting to oard the bus. Suddenly, the uncle stopped him from boarding the bus.. Is he afraid that the bus will get dirty or he is just tired to sweep the bus?
The route that Sv. 85 takes along Punggol is quite desolate, especially during at night. Mostly Punggol side is alot of forested area and usually past Sengkang then the area starts to "liven up" a bit.
However it would be quite unusual to do the same thing after it exits SLE. Just imagine the bus stops at every stop along Lentor Ave... and it is very spooky at night especially if you're alone along Lentor Ave. Whats more, Yishun town is rather densely populated and at 2330++ hrs it is still rather "busy".
At bus555: what's so unusual about a BC opening the doors before it stops at the bus stop? Quite a few BCs do that... and they are mostly chiongster BCs / drive very recklessly.

he's just very strict abt the rules. by right eating and drinking is really not allowed on bus and train, but most commuters just heck care, and most BCs/ SLs heck care as well, and then people dirty the bus with the food they start complaining why is the bus so dirty?
eating esp usually pollutes the air inside the bus and is annoying. even if a passenger retains the used food packet and throws away after alighting the bus, some food particles may fall inside the bus premises hence attracting insects and cockroaches. for drinks, any spillage onto seats and floors is not fair to passengers taking over these seats.
by refraining from eating and drinking onboard the bus is a matter of civic consciousness and its a shame that such rules got to be put up instead of expecting people to be considerate in their behaviour. Others include:
- no smoking, no spitting, no littering, move to the rear of the bus, give way to alighting MRT passengers, stand to left of escalator, etc etc. Why are we trying to educate adults about civic mindedness when they are expected to set a good example to the their kids and the younger generation?
at times have to dulan those zombie passengers, dun wan to flag the bus, inches to front door when bus stopped, dun wan to press the bell... ... etc
so bus captain stop at all stop is really the best bet, like mrt, door r closing , du du du du du du, no passenger will miss the bus, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
i think maybe he has to see the bus schedule and timetable.

come on man, everywhere is the same. i mean, every country. There are bound to be pple flouting the rules, not just in Singapore.
aiya mus get them pay a new tax even those that drive..public transport cleanliness tax then they learn de..money is always the easiest solution

IDFC requirement. Sometimes the BC need to stop at every bus stop to let the IDFC be read by satallite. Some BC also reflected to me before that they felt really stupid and scary to do that but no choice.
it is also that being last bus, the BC has to drive slowly so as to match the insanely slow timings of last bus at the bus stop panels...which is also reflected in timesheets.
in this case a review of last bus running times shd be carried out n if half down route need to be provided doe to faster speeding runs shd be done
