if that service has a jumpbus system. means the driver would switch buses either during peak periods or every trip/few trips.
a bc can do more than 1 svc if its doing a crossover timesheet. its a scheduled thing that goes on at a regular basis during that period of time, usually done when theres a very high demand for a particular svc for a very short period of time or to cover time for drivers from another service to have mealbreak.
another reason why a bc can do more than 1 svc is driver did A shift on sv28. after that due to lack of drivers on sv143, and an empty slot. this driver goes over to 143 for 1 round trip on a P shift slot on sv143. this is called shua.

shua can use to describe what u mentioned above meh? shua only got 3 hanyu pinyins, namely
,刷,唰.
Can anybody give me some examples of services which meets each other at opposite bus stops from one place? If you don’t understand, below are two examples.
You are at Tampines Ave 1 (Opp Safra Tampines). If you want to go to Tampines Ave 7 (Blk 449) you can take 21. But if you take 8/18, you will reach the opposite bus stop.
Same goes to 13 and 162. You are at AMK Ave 6. You want to go Bishan St 22. You can take 13. But if you take 162, you will reach the opposite bus stop.

u r @ Serangoon North Ave 4, going to Serangoon Gardens (73 n 315)
u r @ Ang Mo Kio ave 10, going to Eunos Link (45 n 55)
u r @ Ang Mo Kio ave 3, going to Chinatown (CT8 n 166)
u r @ Ang Mo Kio ave 3, going to Marina (133 n 162)
Take 59 from Bishan St 11 to Toa Payoh Swimming Pool, xfer to 57 back to Bishan St 11 (opposite stop).

Another example:
Take 51 from Jurong East Central to Alexandra Rd (before AYE), transfer to 97 back to Jurong East Central (opposite stop). Vice-versa works.
From Jurong East int, services 334 and 335 can go to Jurong West Ave 1, but service 334 ply this side of the road while service 335 ply the opposite side.

No. They have single-planetary hypoid axles. New hub reduction buses are hard to find, even Merc and MAN aint really producing them. Though Merc has a 4 axle Actros truck with hub reduction on all wheels.
Svc 5 & 65: Hoot Kiam Rd - Eunos Link opposite direction
Thanks all for contributing!
SBS220H (SL 154) has a gearbox problem when i boarded e bus from Boon Lay yesterday. Has problem stepping from 2 to 3, 3 to 4 only. When BC steps to max, gearbox mysteriously steps to N then changes to higher gear at very low rpm. I asked e BC when this problem started n he replied it already started since he started his shift. I also noted that he pressed '3' on e gear, located at e dashboard, which i forgot to ask him why.
So i need u guys to do a favour for me. Whenever u board a SBS MB0405, take note if BC presses 1, 2, or 3 on e gear. Post your findings on this thread.
Thank You.![]()
I saw a WA SBST O405 with the old white-red livery as a training bus around hougang street 21 today... What is the rego plate and does anyone have a picture....
i wonder why SBS458P serving svc 334 appears to off svc from JE int till the looping point then i saw it back on svc again when it turned left at JW ave 1/JW st 42 junction about 5pm+ ytd... nid from beginning then off svc then back to svc on the middle of the route meh?

All SBST MB O405 use 3 speeder W3E/ 110 gearbox, and therefore the selector is normally "3". If "1" or "2" is selected, then the bus is running on first gear or second gear. Before the 60km/h limit, at "3", the MB O405 can attain a top speed of 90km/h.
The MB gearbox should come with a kickdown feature for better acceleration. When the BC steps to "max", it is supposed to hold onto either the first or second gear slightly longer, which resulted in better acceleration. Many BC do not know how to apply this kickdown feature because every MB accelerator comes with a further step action to activate this kickdown. You should hear a "tock" sound if it is really pressed to the max.
As for the effect of gearbox going to neutral then to a higher gear at low speed. It is due to the mechanics at the depot having selected a non-kickdown switch (economy mode). And so when the BC release the pedal and step again (most probably out of frustration), it goes to the higher gear.
I have not driven a MB with a Voith gearbox, so can't tell how it works.
Which hub opened earlier than the A/C bus Int when the inegrated hub is completed?

SBS210L used to be perm on which service before it becomes HG training bus?
