Buses must be 15m or less -> Lessons learnt from the bendies. Too long, not good. But 15m bus still quite long though.
i'm curious though, what are the implications you are thinking that it have?
Of the inflexibility both poses.
There are good and bad for all classes of buses.
By doing that LTA has effectively contrained what both SBST and SMRT can offer.
Gradual transition? *snorts*
It won't be so gradual years from now.
What next then?

Well now there are still two steps - floor buses that are recently purchased, their lifespan still have at least 10 years. They mandate the WABs to bring convenience to passengers especially the elderly and PIWs. So by the time the last non-WAB bus is retired in another 10+ years, hopefully it's all WAB friendly buses le.
I agree that LTA's ruling is constraining the types of buses that SBST and SMRT can purchase. But the bigger picture is that it is for the convenience of passengers, and the safety and benefits of the fellow road users who share the roads with the buses.

But is having 100% WAB that good?
Even 50% seems a better choice.
And if they go ahead with putting the crush-loading concept on ALL buses also then in what way is it friendly to the elderly?
Since you can't please all as I understand why keep making certain policies "MANDATORY", "100%"?

From your post, I guess you are less than 20 years old? I suggest you to check the history first before commenting.Don't compare ourselves with our counterparts. Why? We will never be satisfied. Wait till you go to KL and try their new buses, don't be shocked. You should be focusing on your own country.
The very min requirement that we commutors expect is at least the service. Look at our service especially the WAB issue. It says it all. I don't mind the increment of the bus fares and mrt fare but please justifiy it ! Both companines have shown none.
I understand what you mean...
But that silver lining you are trying to give to all of us is being obscured by the current reality that our local operators give.
Asking for a foreign company, such as HK's KUB, that have good records of serving customers to come to S'pore might be a good idea.....but is it feasible?
Instead of asking some foreign company to come to our already transport-and-land saturated country....Why not suggest some of those good ideas that they have deployed, to our main operators so that they can jolly well improve?
I am not a fortune teller and I can't tell what will happen tmr...who knows... Singapore might indeed have another bus operator kicking in....
But one thing is for sure... If you just type type your comments here and hoping for the Sun to rise from the West... then nothing will eventually happen.
Just my 2 cents' worth... Feel free to comment... I very easy-going one....
got a ques + suggestions:
- N113CRB > replaced by KUB euro 4,5 [200u]
- O405 > replaced by KUB euro 4,5 [700u]
- B10M Mark II > B9TL euro3 [200u]
next going of units:
- LO3X > ?
- V02X NAC > ?
- B10M MIII > ?
Q, what buses would you want it to be replaced with ?

Hi, tx for your reply. do you have any idea how these buses looked like? i only remembered seeing MB OF1413 Soon Chow & Metsec bodied buses and MB OF 1417 Hawke bodied buses in AMK area when i was young. I don't remember seeing Albon EVK41L with Soon Chow bodied buses plying in AMK area. They were seen in HG area instead.
Used to see Albion with a single door (usually not working) plying along Old Jurong Road in service 175.
The bus driver compartment is separated from the passengers compartment by a low wall, and behind the wall is a long seat fitted for passengers to sit.
