3 days ago, I saw a news on Lianhe Zaobao saying that SMRT will be buying 100++ new buses by the end of this year, does anyone know which models are them? And the article also says all 49 Nissan UDs will be removed from services... I hope I know when will they be gone exactly ='(

I saw this on wiki:
SMRT has currently ordered another 500 Nissan Diesel U31RCN to replace its fleet. The specifications of the bus are dirty yellow painted interior with hard wooden seats + 5 steps SUPER HIGH FLOOR bus. Maximum speed of the bus is 10km/h. The exterior however will be the same except it will have smaller windows that only one eye can see. The bus is also known to make vibrations similar to Scania L113 when sitting at the back when the bus is moving and HARDER when the bus is not moving. This is a feature that will relax your muscle. The good thing is, this new bus is wheelchair accessible. The wheelchair person will sit behind the bus (after the EDS and window) where there will be a ramp. The wheelchair person will be getting fresh air and the good news is there will be a ezlink card tapper at the back of the bus just for the wheelchair person.

Its quite hard to catch this bus too, i saw it cameo on all kinds of service before e.g. 12, 579, 81...
I think SBST should just put this bus permenant on a feeder for us to catch. On feeder services, same buses reappear between 30-45 mins so it is easy to catch the same bus.

The buses are on the roads to serve a purpose. And its purpose is not to blindly satisfy the fetish of brainless people, who time and again reiterates his dumb fetish to have this bus on this route and that bus on that route.
Someone's getting on my nerves..like totally.

for us to catch or for you to catch? Most of us have already caught it anyway. Just be patient, sooner or later it will cameo on a svc that passes your house. -

Hmmmm if you really do want to catch this bus you may want to try service 81, i saw it cameo 81 at least 3 times before. I managed to catch a ride on it last monday, specially waited for it after school
But i find it's one of the shakiest DM3500s i have riden before. Maybe because of BNDEP?

BNDEP is not too bad actually. When SBS2699Y just came BNDEP from SLBP, it was a monster but BNDEP fixed it and now its good. Took SBS2699Y a week ago when it cameo on 222. Anyway, does SBS2754X have the "ding-dong" sound when this plug doors closes? -

Nope the door closing sound is like all other DM3500s - just a long beep

I have a question regarding LO3x
From what I know, all the LO3x, except the prototype from UK, were assembled in Singapore
May I know the rego of the LO3x prototype if it is used by SBST as a revenue bus?

Some of the MKIVs screech when accelerating. Most of the 159 buses have this problem. Any reason?

not sure why but its not only limited to 159 mark 4's. those that roar exceptionally loudly are much more prone to screeching. -

I boarded SBS9813M, a perm VSO on 222 this afternoon. When I went to the upper deck and sat down, I was shocked to see some crackers below the seat, most probably left behind by some students. I thought service 222 does not have this problem like service 3? I wonder if the student who threw this cracker below the seat knows how to appreciate a VSO's nice bodywork.

tsk. its not only vso la. all other buses has litter. and what has the litter got to do with whether the student appreciate the bodywork or not. lol. u as bus fan of cos think this is nice cos u consciously notice it. other ppl dont bother to notice wad bus is it.
