Nice article there! Well speaking of no eating and drinking in the bus. I remember this year on National Day eve I took a Service 72 Double Decker bus low floor one somemore, when I seat on the upper-deck, there was 2 "fatties" seating at the back of the bus eating Mcdonald burger and then laughing away at the TV Mobile that was showing plus making the bus seats so dirty that i Never want to take it again and if I am right, the licence plate of the bus is SBS9888Y...

Well.. I believe it wasn't intentional for the lady to eat in the bus. Afterall.. she's not like eating laksa in the bus. If she's on the hurry to another place.. I guess eating a small bar should be alright ba ...

Wah 2nd time a Oc breakdown and it looks like 2E from the pic above the stomp.
Well... I guess having such new buses may not be that good afterall... It seems that new products happen to come with more flaws nowadays. Not just buses; some cars and even home appliances that are ironically new... spoil earlier.
I suppose the reason lies in poor workmanship. Nowadays, many workers and factories want to cut production cost. Humans are generally smarter these days, hence they would succumb to some dirty tricks up on their sleeves to come up with unreliable yet good-looking products to cheat consumers. Hopefully.. such new buses breaking down will be the first and the last....

It's certainly not my first time witnessing it. I guess such pictures are meant to give the STOMP website more hits.. that's all.

There are also cases where the BCs/SLs are unfamilliar with the new bus that they are driving. Cant really blame everything on workmanship.

Ironic... New buses that are supposed to be user-friendly and easier to drive end up being a headache to those drivers.

Good point. This is what my parents try to tell me too, New =/= good. The brand new B9TLs are already vibrating horribly while our old VOs are still in generally good condition. This is a problem with the whole world, not just buses. In fact I find that things are moving too fast, causing the above. Sorry of it goes off topic.

Not all new buses are lousy, vibrating buses.
Your logic is screwed. How can you assume all B9TL vibrate horribly?
I don't think you should be making such comments. You are just looking for trouble.

If they think the $1000 fine is too much, increase it by 1,000,000 times.

PTC defended SBST and SMRT in ST Report. "We need to be fair to the bus companies..." -_-" ... den they say about the ezlink card reader taking down commuter ridership.
If that's the case, 190 and 960 certainly have exceeded their passenger load when commuters are standing on the steps of all 3 doors.
packed like siao..
yet SMRTB losses is still bigger than SBST's losses..
small bus co can make bigger loss than a bus co 3x bigger than them

Their buses always OFF SERVICE from point A to point B.
And a lot of non profitable Premium Services.

Non profitable? How about S531? If it was non profitable why would they need 4 buses that run at 5 minute intervals?
