Same here! U know how much I luvvvvvv them! ![]()
I realised those buses that have their lifespan extended are those 39XX. That's expected because they are registered later than their peers. I really hope to hear of more 37XX or 38XX having their lifespan extended too... Some are really good... be it engine or asthetics.
i saw number of old merc buses park in amk deport. when i look into the bus park along the road near driving centre. i think some number start with 42x something.

Yah.i also hope more of the merc lifespan is extended since most of the 39XX and OAC series merc lifespan have been extended.and like u say,the merc are fantastic in everything.be it aircon, acceleration or speed.

if the 37xx and 38xx series liftspan are not extended, then why are you still seeing them on the roads?

My meaning of extension means extend beyond 2010....
Besides... I don't rule out the possibility of such buses having their lifespan being extended... I mentioned that it would be great seeing them on the roads.. Wouldn't that be nice?
Today i and scania lov3r went outside AMDEP.then we saw this whole row of merc parked beside this Toshiba building.and many of them had their bumpers removed here and there.then we managed to see a few merc parked beside the road.a few of them we managed to see were SBS423P,SBS421U,SBS402A,SBS404U and SBS3897K.SBS421U and SBS423P were parked facing the fence almost hitting the kerb.but the rest of the merc all were parked with their rear facing the Toshiba building.then we managed to see the white paper pasted on the merc windscreen.it said 'do not put on service.bus on lay-up.by AMKWS management'.AMKWS is Ang Mo Kio workshop management?and all the merc were in such good condition and SBS404U even looked as if it was just repainted.it was very heartbreaking to see those merc in such condition.

That row is the famous Laid Up/New Buses corner. If not how would lemon1974 spot them regularly?

Then when we walked down further after the entrance to the depot,we saw a lot of left-view and right view mirrors and some huge metal stuff dumped in a corner beside the fence.they should probably have been from the laid-up merc.and that area suddenly looked more like a scrapyard than a depot due to that mess.
bad news to those who love SBST mercs. i saw 1 OAC towed to Sg Kadut Industrial Est yesterday afternoon. Has no rego plate n some body parts were taken off alr.
Oh my..that's terrible..

AMDEP remove quite a number of the laid up MBO405 the past few days to clear up their space. There are roughly around 25-30 laid up Merc in AMDEP.
