I am in a state of shock that Turf City is going to withdrawn its free shuttle bus to Ang Mo Kio
Anyone knows why??

Maybe after the opening of the huge NTUC Fairprice at AMK Hub, the people stopped going to Giant @ Turfcity, hence service demand has dropped drastically. Possible?
Not to mention that the Giant at Tampines has been opened.

actually most of SS's customer base from NTUC one...
you see how telok it can go esp for the Bedok Ctrl outlet
So sad that I cannot go to Ang Mo Kio for free after 1 May 2008.
But, I am wondering whose idea is it to withdrawn this routes, don't the shop owners like Ah Yat Seafood have something to say about it.
Take a MRT from Ang Mo Kio to Toa Payoh, it only cost u 78c (by ezlink). Then take the free shuttle bus from there instead ![]()

AMK Shuttle ridership is unstable(sometimes high/low) & the bus stops at near shelter aft traffic light for boarding/alighting thn cut aross the road to turn right(which sometimes obstructs traffic) & little rest time for driver(due to slow traffic along PIE slip rd to Lorine Rd/Lorine Rd/goes 1 round to AMK Ave 8).
Also there's AMK Hub nearby.
With the price of oil soaring, withdraw the service is the best way to save $$$
