Right now, it is only being used on SBST's newer fleet of buses. Having it on all buses would be a good idea. The new bell styled chime sounds more smothing to our ears rather than the old buzzer sound. What do you think?
Dunno... didn't hear it before... mostly my earpiece would be on with my music at full blast when riding a bus...
There's no use... coz these chimes spoil easily and when they do they usually get replaced by buzzers.
Here's a video on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDBjmN9MGgw&feature=related

i would disagree that this chime on B9TL is smothing to our ears cos firstly what is smothing and secondly, take a B9TL and hear the awful door closing chime. the CNG and B10TL ones are fine.

We can use the ones on CNG and B10TL on all buses.

B10TL is for internal records, you can see the "Super Olympian" behind the bus, at the engine cover. That's its "name".

I noticed that the entrances of Tridents have a long strap, does that help with the motion of the doors opening and closing?

No.
It just there to prevent people from standing on the path of the opening doors.
