Very true. If memory serves me right, this is the only bus that I took that has the knob working.

Unless Merzrox mistook SBS81S to a SJE MAN, which also have the same bodywork. Or else, the rule applies (No pic, No talk)

at tampines st 34 outside east spring sec where 28 plies now.

add on: CAC buses were fitted with this design aircon ducts came without the open/close flaps.

If you had said "2 years ago", we wouldn't suspect that you were seeing things.

Which part of Changi did u see this bus in Mar 2007? No pic no talk ok? btw, this bus was alrd deregistered on 4th Feb 2007 if i am not wrong. So how can you see it in Changi in Mar 2007?
Eh....give benefit of doubt.....not everyone remembers the precise date of all the events.
Let's just take it as roughly that time.

dunno. waiting for him to reply. Tot he will say that he took this Man bus in the 90s as well..

Or maybe SBS Transit wants a group shot of their two MAN demonstrators... </random>
Edit: dug up this page about SBS 81S; it's a MAN 16.240, while SBS 8031J is a MAN 18.240 HOCL-NL. Hmmm... what do those numbers mean again?
ok.sorry.its my fault.i saw this bus 2 years ago.forgot to add this in.
ok.i have edited my original post.no more confusions.
erm gt this rules say no pic no talk? Wad if u saw a rare buses cameoing and it in expressway and is speeding can u took a pic of it?
meh.
16.240 and 18.240
i think by now u guys know the 240 is for HP rating. the first two digits are tonnage . how heavy the bus is i guess.
also to note there are 3 types of MAN products
the series type like SL252 NL263 etc
the integral product like Lion's City L or Lion's City G
and finally the tonnage.HPrating type like 18.250 or 18.310CNG
etc

It's at some vehicle park in Changi during Mar 07. I saw it from the MRT heading West. It's located somewhere near the SMRT Changi Depot.

You must be seeing things. Dereg buses don't go out on the roads, unless towed to the scrapyard.
Finally SG transport operators are bringing in MAN buses. Hope to see more buses of this make enter private service too.
Anyway, I hope the NG313 will stamp its authority on the roads in the Lion City in time to come.

ok.so this is like a gone case as i heard from this forum that LTA has banned the public transport operators from buying bendies.if this rule isn't in place, maybe there will be a tiny chance that SMRT would buy those type of bendies.but chances are zero for SBST.so i think we can dream on about seeing this buses in singapore.but who knows.anything can happen.

The Habits still have at least 10years + of lifespan too. In this time frame, anything can happen, everything can be evaluated again. In fact, because rigids aren't the answer to everything, maybe new bendies will be on the road once again. But this will mean the transport operators will have to upgrade their infrastructure this time, and LTA will also have to modify more roads to accomodate bendies (although mostly is ok for now).
