Psst, can I ask, does our SMRT OC500LEs really come equipped with CNG gas tanks?
Thanks.

No. They dont come with them. CNG is an option. The tanks will only be fitted if the buyer wants the CNG option.

Oh, because I heard from elsewhere our OC500LEs had a CNG gas tank equipped on top of diesel tanks, thus a higher cost. ![]()

CNG is an optional extra and adds roughly AU$50,000 onto the cost of each bus.
Transperth and Sydney Buses operate CNG-fuelled units in Australia. Bunbury City Transit who operate in Bunbury in Western Australia (2 hours' drive south of Perth) operate Euro 3 diesel versions.

Oh you mean the gas tanks being installed on top of the diesel tanks? If so, then no. The gas tanks are installed on the roofs, just like the CNG B10BLEs.
Maybe what they meant is the Adblue tank? Haha

FYI, the bus is parked outside shade and more worse, can't wash because of it's advert. Buses with exterior ads are not permitted to go to the bus wash.

I thought the rear of the OC500LEs (especially the windows) are gonna be like the K230UB's design. Yep, they are, but to differentiate the bodywork, there's alot of black paneling. Look nice and modern.
I can see SMB1H being joined by SMB2-5 le.
why SMRT buses with outside ad cannoit wash, SBS one can mah.....

The ad gets water inside, then slowly peels off? or they afraid that bus with ad, ad gets torn off and damage the washer lol

CNG OC500LEs obviously do not have a diesel engine in them, they have a M447hLAG CNG engine instead of a OM457hLA/OM906hLA diesel engine.

Only the OM 457 hLA and M 447 hLAG engines are available on the OC 500 LE now. The OM 457 hLA is available in 220 kW / 299 PS (there is apparently a demonstrator circulating in Australia with the larger 260kW / 354 PS rating) and the M 447 hLAG is available in either 185 kW / 252 PS or 240 kW / 326 PS. Both CNG and diesel engines displace 11.967-litres.
For operators who are after a low-entry chassis with a smaller engine, the Brazillian O 500 U (also known as the OH 1830 LE) is available. This has a model OM 926 LA engine which develops 225 kW / 305 PS (de-rated from 326 PS maximum). This engine displaces 7.201-litres but with it's unusually high torque output (1200 Nm @ 1200-1600rpm), this engine actually easily outperforms the old OM 457 hLA Euro 3 engine rated at 185 kW / 252 PS, as I found out yesterday.

Ad gets torn off and damage the bus-washing machine ?
Are u kidding me or what ?
Are u trying to say that a piece of thin plastic can actually damage the bus-washing machine ?

Why not? If the ad goes into the moving parts?
