4 OC500LEs on the road. or maybe 7 lol.
But can't wait to board one of them soon.
SMB4A spotted at Yishun Int at 1330 hrs today =).
No news on which service they're going, but I saw service captains from 851, 853 and 854 visiting them =\.

They allowed SLs to board the bus to explore and drive around (Yes I'm not kidding, someone drove the bus out and back in).
SLs which boarded may not necessary mean they are the ones who are learning the OC500LE, if not the whole of Yishun would be full of them? -__-"
I saw 1 Sv171 SL, 4 Sv812 SL, and loads of Sv851, 853 and 854 SLs along with many plainclothes SLs who have ended shift boarding the bus to play around with the dashboard and the controls. Does that mean these services will get them? =.=
A small kid and his father actually boarded the bus too. Turns out the father was a SL to YSRG so he took his son up lol. His son went opening and closing the doors. ![]()
Update on KJDEP OCs
In total, 2 new OCs are spotted so far in KJDEP, parked side by side with SMB1H near maintainance bay.

Well ... maybe later your time they just called people to play with the bus? I spotted them specifically calling the SLs to go up there ...

Maybe thats the case, but 853 is not getting the OC500LEs yet.

Could be funny if the doors opened and closed until they fell off
.
Anyway, I guess they are doing a exhibition of the Mercedes OC500LE of sorts for the bus captains so they will be prepared when they finally get to drive one - guess SMRT is doing a broader approach to keep us bus ethusiansts from guessing
.
I won't be surprised if SMRT tries to put this on route 854, 969, or 858 - route 854 competes with route 25 for a certain high-load stretch, while route 969 competes with route 39; both bus routes have (or are receiving) wheelchair-accessible buses. Route 858 goes to Changi Airport, and SBS Transit's Changi Airport routes have been receiving the new Scania K230UB buses as of late; SMRT will definitely not want to "lose face" in front of an international crowd

You know what's diminishing marginal returns to scale?![]()
Basically why buy more when you don't need more?

Haha. So long run or short run?

Excess 68 units, I think don't even need such a theory, it's just senseless.![]()

Could be used for expansion I guess. But given the current management, doubtful. Anyway does SMRT have enough bus to meet the 10min rule?

That's where govt intervenes in the free market.![]()
If the govt does not say anything about this, will the incentive be big enough for SMRT to attempt this anyway?
Who knows?
That's where cost-benefit analysis comes to play....and speculations from bus fans.![]()

Yes. Of course. Too bad the speculations from bus fans have got no impact on the public transport system, unlike the wonderful forex market.

It's the "Doors Closing" annoucement speaker. On SMB1H when the doors close you will hear the doors closing annoucements same as the one on SMRT Trains.

That kind of speculation has got too much impact too often.![]()

How very true. Think we should stop this discussion or we're gonna get flamed for being off topic. HAHA

Probably something wrong with the sensor. I also heard the annoucements twice before the door closed when I took it on 190.
