Cram is the wrong word; I think overcrowded doesn't even begin to describe the chaos in there.
Trying going down to Woodlands Depot at about 8 or 9PM and take a look yourself. BUSES EVERYWHERE.
I seriously can't imagine Woodlands Depot taking any more buses.

SMB1H BCs complained of sensor calibration errors at the rear door ever since it went on service in July. I remembered that it happened quite alot of times already.
Update: SMB1H have developed problems with it's airconditioning system.

I've only heard of "cramp" and "clamp" and both are unpleasant words.![]()

They should be taking in new buses as well, it's high time that those old Nissan UD buses are to be phased out.

Anyway, I guess they are doing a exhibition of the Mercedes OC500LE of sorts for the bus captains so they will be prepared when they finally get to drive one - guess SMRT is doing a broader approach to keep us bus ethusiansts from guessing
.
I won't be surprised if SMRT tries to put this on route 854, 969, or 858 - route 854 competes with route 25 for a certain high-load stretch, while route 969 competes with route 39; both bus routes have (or are receiving) wheelchair-accessible buses. Route 858 goes to Changi Airport, and SBS Transit's Changi Airport routes have been receiving the new Scania K230UB buses as of late; SMRT will definitely not want to "lose face" in front of an international crowd
.
Deploying Merc OC500LEs on service 854 will be good as it can compete with the Volvo B9TLs on service 25 and also the demand for service 854 is high.
I wonder whether service 858 will get full fleet Merc OC500LE buses or not, since SBST side have been deploying more and more Scania K230UBs on every CGA services.
Don't think service 853 will get any Merc OC500LEs as yet. Imagine service 980 getting them too one day.

O500s on 858 ?
I think i'll prefer the O405s over the O500s and im sure many of the 858 regulars will share the same idea.
Hi Im New Here... Love Buses... Btw Yesterday i Saw SMB 1 Park At Bukit Batok Int. Around 1330 In 173 Berth...
I can only hope with best regards that SMB 0004 A of Service 851 will operate on a fixed shift for this Sunday instead of jumping around shifts like SMB 0001 H of Service 190 as I will try to get a picture of it at Eu Tong Sen St and if possible I will also get a picture of SMB 0001 H while getting pictures of those Services e.g. 10 being diverted to Eu Tong Sen St (after Upper Cross St) due to road closures with regards to the F1 Season.

I prefer a mix of O405s and OC500LEs on Service 858.

There are pros and cons of it. O405s have more seats. Plus, alot of O405s have no speed limiter. Very nice to chiong.
Aircon is quite good. However, its somehow noiser than OC500LE when on the highway. People with big luggage or heavy items may find it tricky to board.
OC500LEs are very quiet on the highway, nice to sleep on after landing from the airport or after a day work at the airport. Easier to board, so people with huge luggage finds it more convenient to board compared to the O405s. However, its aircon is quite poor and theres lesser seat, so during peak hour its hard to get a seat.
