Spare buses, or or kena breakdown. just kidding.
The Nissan's OAC i think some still quite ok, just need refurbishment. They really have to take out the CAC though. Air con sometimes not good one. If SMRT could go modify the buses' windscreen to three piece etc, maybe they can do some plastic surgery magic on to the appearance of the OACs lolx. although that's just a dream/
yesterday saw 2 new unregistered OCs travelling to WLDEP via BKE>SLE>W'lands Ave 2. Lol, 6 OCs registered yesterday and 2 unregistered were going to WLDEP.

going to WLDEP to install all the EZ-Link readers and all sorts of machines, programme EDS. after that, dispatch to AMDEP and KJDEP. i think WLDEP will only get after the UDs have been phased out.
So... has there been any deployment of these buses on Sembawang routes?

Not as what I have seen yet, but looking forward to.
If WLDEP is not getting any Merc OC500LEs as yet, meaning only services 167 and 980 (under AMDEP slot) have chances. Maybe service 882 also, but chances very slim.
Originally posted by TIB1062Y:Give to WLDEP or AMDEP 980... and within 2 Sundays, both the front and exit door can spoil liao... (If you know what I mean)
SBST also take the risk of deploying Scania K230UBs on services 57 and 66 too
.
Anyway SMRT should deploy Merc OC500LEs on service 980 during the normal weekdays. As for Sundays, I will think that bendies on service 980 will be better instead.

An inactive bus enthusiast saw SMB 7 S on sv 167 yesterday.
SMB 0002E On Service 172

usually from 10am to 4pm, there will be a lot of split shift buses inside KJDEP. if u see it at 8am or 6pm, the whole depot is almost empty..

According to roster it is. Seems like it's doing "ambassador" job or probably running in until the newer batch of OC500 comes in then it will settle on sv 806.
Some updates:-
SMB8P and SMB9L will be assigned to AMDEP.
SMB6U is still on hold in KJDEP.

Cameo only.
SMB8P SMB9L SMB10G will be assigned to AMDEP.
SMB11D SMB12B SMB13Z will be assigned to KJDEP.
No Merc OC500LEs assigned to WLDEP as yet.

the 1 unit. SMB1H
Finally, i managed to take SMB3C on 67 at Tampines this morning at 6.38am.
Boarded the bus, still got new bus smell...even my shirt also got the smell when i reached home lol
Please hold on to the grab poles or handgrips when standing on the bus
Thank you for travelling with SMRT Buses.
Doors are closing
Those so far i the ones i heard from the announcement system.
Of course, it has the interior in greyish and brown with sliver grab poles. One thing that made no sense to me was that the interior wall colour scheme is also brown (similar to SBST's K230UB). Maybe they just let Gemilang use all defaults de. I've to say, it's a step backwards....looks boring-ish. But quite ok.
Got the front and middle "Bus Stopping sign" inherited from the old TIBS tradition.
The bus don't really sound like an O405. More like combination of Dennis Lance, O405 and Hino Volgren combine. At the top gear, it sounds similar to the K230UB.Ride quite comfortable. Of course, got the kneeling function found on WABs.
The external engine/gearbox sound sound more like mitsubishi type bus >.<
edit- oh right - the annoucement voices sounds weak and soft. l
I think the pronounciation is somehow screwed at the 'bus'.
Thank you for travelling on SMRT Buzzes.
LOL.

If the OC500LE can appear on S172, there's still chance for it to do S965. Relax.
