more OC500s come in when i'm not around, wth

They can always get C&C to put up the plates then register the bus together with the other details, like chassis number etc.
I'm inclined to think that SMRT asks Gemilang to paint the rims white before delivery as part of the whole package.

Coming too iirc...they're going to install outside and inside like SBST.

Are these CCTV installations made compulsory by PTC or any regulatory body?

I believe it was mandatory. Actually you would see that every SMRT bus perm on a service that plies by the city area has CCTVs installed (171, 190, 960, 857, 77, 75...). Whereas buses perm on feeders/short trunks do not have. Or buses formerly permed on city services but now perm on feeders or short trunks may have the CCTVs too (I know of TIB 1041H having the CCTV installed even though it's perm on S859.).
Rumours are that, now, SMRT is planning to install CCTVs on every bus they have... so let's just see how it goes.
Most CCTVs are of those "eye-ball" shape, but I suggest boarding TIB 1113J of S851 and see the box-like CCTVs installed on the bus. 4 units if I'm not wrong, and I remember 2 facing the front door, 2 facing the rear section.

SBS9329U of Sv 62(former 147 perm) has box-like CCTVs too but noticed that the screen has been taken off

We would have pin-hole cameras on buses next.

I doubt it is :x. SBST's older buses don't have CCTVs...and I don't think smrt is going to install CCTVs on the Nissans :p.

Just to answer some queries here...
Most bendies do not have CCTVs installed yet. They're installing from the smallest rego up - except the UDs - it would waste money to install on these buses and then remove them from service a few months later. Currently I believe most of the box Mercs have the CCTV. Not very sure where they have installed until, but bendies may have to wait a while...

Must be a cameo Habit bendy...
Those habit bendies that were perm on Service 106, 700 and 960 in Year 2006 have CCTV installed. Not sure about the rest of the services with Habit bendy permers.. I remembered some AMDEP habit bendies have that as well but I don't know whether was it perm Service 851 or others..

All these services had their CCTVs installed during IMF. On and one loose units got them.
