scania n1123CRB greatly enhanced my lvoe for bus.
in 1989
i literally grew up on them go sch take 196 OAC. go airport with family always insist on air-con 390 bus. go jurong east shop shop take air-con 3 OAC scania.
back then they were super quiet super smooth with the scania GV series gearbox but the air-con radiation sound was a bit irritating . bbut once u baord the bus hear the air-con hhigh pitch sound u know u're on the scania. incidentally its fuji office style big vent and 4 mini strip vents round the big square vent type air-con before they replaced it with the two vent style now.
i was too short to reachup n play he silver eyeball but nevertheless can recall them.
will mmiss Scania n113CRB.
BTW did sbst take away those old scania seats that were blue and had those fur they were very comfortable. with the quiet engine, it is an ideal place for sleeping. enjoyed those times when i was taking the old 34 to the airport.

This reminds me of seeing the blue seats on OAC Scanias in the past. I was too young to experience the blue seat's comfy that time.

The MB0405 buses which were the next batch of AC buses also had the same kind of seats too.
It was somewhere in 2000 when SBS had their mid life upgrading programme where the seats were refurbished to those PVC red seats.
my love for scania when i was small was very simple.
the old seats with the blue fur. sweep one way, it becomes dark. sweep the other way, it becomes blue.

Oh yeah...the silver eyeballs. One per 2 seats as I recall.
Anyone can clarify with me about SBS3650E? As i saw 3650E being towed around BNDEP area. The bus doesnt have any rear bumper, doesnt have any rear windows, part of the side gone missing. Accident or lay-up?

he sounds like 72T or 1741P. transferred to bndep, cameoed for a short period and died prematurely thereafter.
Died? So u mean it's preparing for scrapping?

I still remember those days when I always board Sv31 SD buses with blue tinted Windows and blue seats. So I guess its the old Scanias.

It maybe optical illusion or because for the dust.
Btw, you can have fur seats at OAC UD or SMRT non-UD buses if they had not been refurbrished with PVC seats
