Looking at this post, i want to off-topic abit but it's still the problem with the BCs.It's my personal experience.
Students holding tertiary cards for example Poly and Uni cards, do not scan your card on the ezlink reader on buses if the amount inside is negative. Although on the reader it says, "Use Cash", on the BC's screen, it reads invalid card. And thus, the driver will have to retain the card. I'm not saying it's the BC's fault. But according to TransitLink, BCs are educated not to retain tertiary cards if the value is negative inside. But still, BCs retained my card, thus making me waste 1 week of train concession. Luckily, I was able to get a refund from TransitLink.
Please to not flame me, I'm just stating what happened to me, and I believe happened to some of you guys out there.

There is no error beeping sound.
When I tapped when exited, it was working properly with the normal beep sound.
