Long wait for service 86

just now at 7pm, i was waiting for 86 at the bus stop outside the old seletar camp guardhouse, heading towards sengkang. around 15 mins, saw SBS290E coming from the jalan kayu direction without destos. there were some passengers in the bus. i had a shock when i saw the bus, the bus was badly tilting to the right, the exhaust pipe nearly touching the ground! so i think thats the reason why the bus was not picking up passengers. i had to wait half an hour for the next bus, a damn packed SBS9425A
somemore SBS9425A managed to catch up with SBS290E at sengkang sec sch. u guys can imagine how slow SBS290E was travelling
by the way, what causes SBS290E to be tilted so badly? i have seen a lot of mercedes bus with this problem, but not volvos and scanias

9888 fixed liao. That time it also tilt to the right, but now it's back up straight. =D -
hmm.. 290E, 7pm.
when i saw it today at ard 1.10 - 1.15 it was fine.
maybe it bumped something a lil too hard on the way.

Anyway, it usually takes a longer time to wait for 86 if the next bus is a DD.

yeah, ave 6. he came out to inspect the bus, then went back..... i guess he called OCC and was told to not take in any more boarding pax and let those already onboard complete their journey. -
erm. so now lidat. fix or lay up?
im guessing maybe fix since its jus suspension.

last time got 1 SLBP 66. i think its 3839D also liddat tilted to the right until vv jialat. the BC jus keep revving engine and pump the air. then the bus started to tilt back to its original position

of course they will try to fix it if spares are available. once in a while a merc gets this problem. no need to lay up cos of this.

There are now only 2 DD's on 86 – 9425A (Maggi Ad) and 9577U. It used to have 9 DD's and 5 SD's, but that was almost 4 years ago under Hougang Depot with a full Volvo fleet on 86. Now it's Mercedes under Ang Mo Kio Depot, with 2 DD's and 9 SD's.
On the day of transfer, all 9 DD's on 86 were transferred wholly from HGDEP to AMDEP overnight to be controlled by the latter, due to AMDEP's shortage of DD's then, even with control of almost all B10TL's then, and before the B9TL's came in. The 5 HGDEP Mk IV SD's out of 86 were passed to Service 101. Only 2 of them now remain on 101. On AMDEP's side, only 2 of the 9 DD's now remain on 86, with the rest either passed to BNDEP or on other AMDEP services.
On the day before the deployment changes, Service 86 had its DD's running as per usual from Hougang Depot, while every SD slot had a spare bus cameoing on it, majority of them Mk II's.

Anyway it was by coincidence that I happen to pass by, make a u-turn and took the picture. It will simply require some repairs and parts change to the suspension assembly, most probably either a faulty pressure relief valve or failure of the whole assembly unit for that side.

it was already repaired. today it was on Premium 577. Suspension look ok. Not tilted.

Reminded me that of service 7, SBS9601H, was driving so slowly last friday when I took it, it was going at a average of 15kmh at whole journey. Saw schedule of bus at Clementi, bus was not early anyway, but drive until so slow, dunnoe is it suspension or something like that, sob sob sob, if I was a STOMPER 100% make a fuss out of it, SBS was saved from a complaint at last

I was told by fellow forumnite MS once that its the support that connects the air bellow to the chassis gave way. Its like a dislocated shoulder. Hence that particular air bag cant support the weight of the bus, resulting in the tilt.
Have you guys ever seen a nissan tilt? I've seen one before and its tilting angle is similar to SBS290E.
