Bus 963 Crazy Woman Incident

Today at about 8.50 pm, a woman boarded the 963 Bus TIB 826S and refused to pay, saying that if she is caught she'll pay the fine. She seemed quite the angry type.
Trip got delayed as bus driver radioed HQ, but he moved off.
Woman presses bell for Blk 283, Bukit Batok East Ave 3.
Bus stops but doesn't open door. Woman screams, "open the door". Driver radios HQ instead, and after a while the message comes to let the woman off. Bus driver hesitates, but opens the door after an argument.
Woman gets off and shows middle finger at bus.
Heh, I took video, haven't downloaded it yet to see how the quality is like. But I think cannot see her face, only hear her voice.

Let's hope 826S had CCTVs on. Not only will she have to suffer the fine, she'll also be prosecuted for improper behaviour in public.And why did the SL even allow her to exit in the first place...

She's challenging the law. Never got caught for not paying fares before.

she seemed experienced at it ... seasoned fare avoider ... first dun pay, then create a scene, bus driver then radios Bus HQ for help, bus HQ replies to let her off to avoid delaying bus

just a side question, the speaker above sl is use by occ to communicate with sl right?? the the microphone is for the sl to speak to occ right??

So bad arh? U noe when i took Svc 307 at ard 7.16am as usual to sch, an old woman boarded the bus but she dint even tapped her card! Only when she alighted from the bus then she tapped which was at Teck Whye Lane.. Ironically, the BC greeted that old woman when she took the bus! Do u guys think tat it is fair? Pls comment..

Yes, the mic that is installed in all SMRT Buses and the new SBS Transit K230UBs have the capability of communication with the OCC.
But about TIB826S, I don't think that bus got any cameras from my observation but will monitor the bus tomorrow. I presume the BC is a perm PM Shift BC.

All SBS Transit buses have mic , speaker for OCC communication -
Anything can practically happen nowadays... Svc 189 have frequent fare evaders also, say forget card and the sort...
Including too poor to pay fare also can be a reason. Power.

You know what? Even if everybody who boards the bus pays the correct fare, fare price will ALWAYS go up no matter what! This is because a public company MUST always acheive growth and deliver value to their shareholders!So be like me and buy comfortdelgro shares and start supporting fare hikes today!

Not really true... If 50, 000 does not pay their fare each day, with an average of $1.20 fare per person, thats $60, 000 a day.
Multiply that into a year, thats 21.9 million in lost profit. Even 10% of that will make a pretty significant figure in the balance sheet.

which will in turn be recovered the following year when the fare becomes 1.50 per pax.. and millions of ppl can do nothing about it and have to pay.. lol.. -

do you know how insensitive is wat you're saying?deliver value does not mean good divd or profit, it also goes to how it serves it's customers... if you run a biz, you will end up gone in no time

If she was really of unsound mind then I wouldn't bother with her. It would be better to let her off then rather she suddenly ran amok and attacked the passengers endangering their lives. A really mentally disturbed person is more dangerous than than those hooligans.

Bus companies should authorise BC or SL to drive these a s s h o l e or hooligans to the neareset Nearest Police Post. It is already too late to comm to the OCC or wait for further instructions!

What's an SL? i know BC=bus captain though...talking about driving the bus to the police station, isn't there a police division building on the way to 283? Haha, can drop her there.
Where did she board? Which direction is she heading for?

Boarded at Hillview Avenue ... I think its at that industrial building. Got off at Blk 283 ... Bukit Batok ...at the open space.
I think the bus captain did well, didn't let her create a scene when she boarded but did not allow her to get off, waiting for instructions from the OCC, and in the process tekaned her a bit :P
