But I think the most senior bus in history would be SBST's O405s. They are the only SBS Transit buses left with the Mercedes-Benz logo.
if I remembered correctly, when I was younger there are two "sticks" beside the steering wheel for the operation of the exit & entrance doors..

Correct and this made them unique due to these 'unique stick switches' that operate the doors and not only that. A series of them could be found above the driver compartment, near the A/C control.
And one more thing; the roof flaps that could open up and down. I like them and the windows on CACs! They are unique too. Going to miss them operating on one of my favourtie routes (and TIB1224Y's favourite too), Service 178.
gonna miss the exit door closing sound & again if I remembered correctly, there used to be something like a non-cordless phone wire that connects dunno from what to the sliding exit door..
What I know is that the 66 new SMRT's Merc OC500LE buses should be replacing those Nissan UDs.
most probably they just get this current one registered to be on the road 1st as a trial & the rest will be on the roads soon once SMRT is ready after the studies done by them to see which svcs needs them..

Looks like SBST will only be left with majority Volvo fleets followed by the 500 Scania K230UB fleets, 200 Leyland DDs, and few other miscellaneous Dennis Tridants and MAN, after all the Scania N113 CRBs and MB0405s are out in 2010.
Unless SBST starts buying in new Merc buses too.
I believe that SMRT services like 61, 67, 169, 851, 854, 858, 963, 969 will have high chances getting the new WAB fleets apart from service 190. Maybe service 858 should get them too (since SBST already deployed WAB fleets on all their CGA routes).

don't be surprised that SMRT may deploy some of the remaining buses on feeders..
Really sad to see them go actually instead of making away with dis bus SMRT should just keep them and maybe redeploy them as training bus or WT or put them on services like 177,882,925,975,981.

Obviously, SMRT now already deploy Habits on feeders and SMB1H did 300 and 307 before, anything may occur under SPH....

heard from my friend that next time only S-shifts for feeders/intra-town will get bendys, while all AM/PM will get rigid. not sure if that is gonna be true or not
i believe e bendys will go into longhaul svcs n intratown which has more pax.

Actually this is quite a good idea , becos sometimes during off peak the demand for feeders can be quite low (during certain periods)

Don't forget SBS9800A came out 3 years after SBS9888Y

but the B10TLs were bought way later then.

Nobody would ever wanna get "kiap" from the UD doors, man it would hurt. The sound of the impact does the talking ![]()

nobody in the right frame of mind would wanna be kiap-ed by the exit doors but if kena then suay coz there's no such thing as "touch" sensor unlike train doors..

Not 177! I seriously doubt that the bus can climb up the hill. The 852 UDs already have trouble climbing up the short slope from BB East Ave 3 to Ave 6.
I shall miss this bus. The rides are slow but smooth. Its not bumpy and doesnt vibrate like some L113s.
UD's are powerful. they just need extreme measures to make them accelerate properly and brake properly

Yishun one cannot tahan. Off peak also about 60% packed... peak is around 90%..

Then might as well convert 804 & 812 to full rigid fleet...
Since both only A/P duties (6 each). Both highest density services under the feeder group but use full fleet rigid... hmm...
