According to roster, it's weekend perm... SMRT their deployment can be very messy especially when differentiating the different deployments between weekdays and weekends..

Any idea what event was held today that required DD chartering?
Definitely not for PLAB of course.

Last intake by HGDEP was SBS8261L in mid July, just a few weeks ago. It is AMDEP and BNDEP which takes in most of the recent batches every week.
ARBP/BBDEP seems to have stopped taking in new buses. Last intake if I remembered correctly was SBS8150Z (already in HGDEP) and SBS8434E, in April this year.

Agree with you that WLDEP and its bendy deployments can be very messy in terms on bendy and rigid deployments during weekdays and Sundays. Services like 169, 856, 857, 960.
Another senerio is service 980, where WLDEP will control 2-4 more duties over AMDEP on Sundays and Public holidays schedule. An additional service 980 time slot and any assigned bus rego will normally appear in the standby driver's duty roster in WRI for his/her Sunday duties.
Worse one is the massive deployment of Nissan UD buses on service 187 which is not even reflected in the duty roster
.

Don't forgot Sv 962 and the Woodlands Feeders. Their deployments can be very messy with some feeders getting more than half of it's fleet full of cameos from other services. Sv 962 would always get a S-slot where any bus could just do it. And to add on, some S-shift duties swap bus during swing break due to maintainance problems. For Example. One driver drives TIB1179U in the AM part. Then, he goes back to depot for the swing break. His bus sent for maintainance. Then, when he's ready to go back out to complete it's PM part of the shift, his bus he driven earlier was not ready for service. Then, he was given a rigid and thus, drives out to complete it's duty.
Hope this could help in the causes of all this messy deployments.

The horrible 1053Z broke down again. Must have been too many mosquitoes inside its engine.

Not common, a bit rare, but not very rare. Lol.
