If you have photoshop or some image editing software on your destop, open your image using any of these programs. For photoshop users, you can resize your image by clicking on:"Image" > "Image Size"
For a regular photo size, usually we adopt sizes like:
- 640x480
- 800x600
....
- 3264x2468Where the ratio of the length is 4:3 to the breadth.
Just some simple guidelines. :)
