Sometimes when I get on the express buses to work, sometimes there are people who take "Yuen3 Wang4 Lu4" because they didn't know that the buses do not stop at their stops, this happens very frequently, almost every ride I take the bus driver(always the same auntie) has to explain that she cannot stop.
Is there no remedy to this?
Maybe these buses should paste the route the bus is taking near the back door, so that passengers can refer to them. or maybe notices to explain which roads the bus doesn't stop at. or maybe make use of the LED display in the buses to inform passengers.

what bus? FFw?
i think the remedy is that they realised that it doesn't stops at the bus stop they want
Bus not equal to taxi. Just like Train don't stop anywhere you like.

It's along the route - Bus I'm talking about is 174e. It bypasses holland and dunearn road without stopping and you see alot of lao ah ma and students missing school because of it.

The idea of having an express service is, well..... to provide an express service.
Let these lao ah ma and students learn their lesson.

I think lao ah ma is much better than some aunties. I've seen before things such as cursing at the bus drivers when such things happen.
It happens when i was waiting for 178. Coincidentally, theres massive congestion at Woodlands Checkpoint road. Hence 178's frequency was severely affected, resulted in us waiting for 25mins until the bus arrives. When we all reached woodlands checkpoint road, the SL told us that the route is diverted and he would have to stop at specific bus stops instead. Then this enraged auntie came up infront and told the SL that she wanted to alight here (which is far from the designated bus stop) so that she can walk home much shorter and faster. The SL refuses to do so and stops at the bus stop instead. The auntie became even more enraged and started hurling swearing words at the SL.
I pity these drivers who have to go through such nonsense from people who are plain selfish. ![]()

y nt put FFW on 28 coz many ppl boarding at safra, bedok town and sad think is everytime wan board svc28 always full.If gt place need to stand and u know BC always say that words (no need i type ba u all know de)
I took 174E before and was almost afraid i couldn't alight at Bukit Batok East Ave 6 there. On the trip, got a student he didn't know that it didn't stop until reaching Bukit Timah (think from Dunearn onwards). Then he panicked and asked around, realising that he is on an FFw service skipping the stop near his home. The SL let him down at the next stop with some other aunties.
Last time FFW was launched, the bus had a slightly different livery with the www.ffw.com.sg all over the buses and modified right indicators resembling the KUBs and B9s doing the FFw routes, now like disappear and replaced with stickers on the entrance and exit steps. Maybe they can reintroduce the livery, change the EDS of FFw (for KUBs) to read (FAST FOWARD 174e --> Skipping [locations].
Express service should be less confusing as there's some clue that some sorts never stop, the passengers will ask before boarding. But in the case of FFw, it's the modification of an existing trunk route, causing confusion even till today.
FFW and express services are still quite easily distinguishable from the other basic or parent services. The desto has different colours and have the very distinguishable blue coloured Express/FFW (except for 174e which has e kub buses). Try taking 128 in the peak hours and you can see a lot of WTF faces when the bus flew past the few non-stop bus stops.
Logo, attire set express service apart
5 Jul 08, the new paper
WE refer to Mr Jason Heng Ching Sheng's letter, 'Be clearer about charges', (The New Paper, 30 Jun).
Allow us this opportunity to inform that our Fast Forward services are clearly differentiated with a bold 'Fast Forward' logo which appears just beside the service number.
This is to minimise confusion of Fast Forward services which run parallel to normal trunk services.
In addition, bus captains driving Fast Forward services don a vest to differentiate themselves from the regular parent services.
At the bus stops where Fast Forward services call, details including their routes, operating hours and fares charged can be found - once again to minimise confusion with normal trunk services.
Since we introduced Fast Forward services in 2005, we have not encountered many instances of commuters boarding the wrong bus, but we will continue to monitor the situation.
We thank Mr Heng for his feedback.

The BC will display this 174E desto when doing 174E as some passengers reading the EDS mistake it for the normal Service 174. But however I think the BC can just let the passengers learn their lesson.
