May i know if i take night rider and pay the $3 when i first board it, after which i wanna take another night rider, must i pay another $3? or for the whole night it will be free?
only one free transfer
so 2 rides = $3
hope this is useful to you
To be exact, the free transfer is only applicable within the first 45 minutes from boarding. Which means, if you board at 1am, your free transfer is only valid till 1.45am.
Another point to note, free transfer only applies to ezlink payment.

dunno and dun care. unless got a Dennis on NR
from personal observation,
NR2 leaves Marina Centre first
5N and 8N buses park at NBR while awaiting departure time
NR3 starts trip oposite G-MAX (Zouk)
There is a 1N/162M shift where it comes out of AMDEP at 10:10 pm and does one round of Sv 162M. Then, off service to Marina Centre and do 3 1N trips before off service back depot.
Usually, Nightrider for SMRT only deploy Mercs and only Mercs. No Dennis or DAF or Scania if i could recall, except for a time when a Volgren Lance did NR1 on New Year's Eve of 2005.
Sorry for OT: Anyway, yes.
you can only have one free transfer for NR within 45 minutes. It works also for regular services too during day-time. Riding NR is better then NiteOwl since it has more value for money if doing multiple NR trips.

NR2 leaves Marina Centre first because of its timesheet. If you look at all the Owls' schedule they do not depart at the same time but rather at a staggered timing.
Sometimes 5N 8N park at Marina Centre. If they do not, they would simply arrive 5min before time, wait a while then start or just start trip.
Of the 4 1N buses, 3 do 162M for 1 trip before doing 1N. The last one does 1N only.
All the 4 2N buses do a half trip on S65 before doing 2N. 2 start trip from HBF, 2 from TAM
All 4 3N buses do 1 trip of 195 before doing 3N
All 3 4N buses do half trip of 14 from Clementi before doing 4N
All 4 5N buses do half trip of 197 before doing 5N, 2 from Bedok, 2 from Jurong East.
3 6N buses do half trip of 132 before doing 6N, 2 from Hougang, 1 from Bt Merah. The 4th bus do 1 full trip from Hougang before doing 6N, does 6N last bus.
All 4 7N buses do half trip of 12 before doing 7N, 3 from Chinatown, 1 from Pasir Ris.
All 4 8N buses do half trip of 174 before doing 8N.
try NR6 or Nr1 sometimes got dennis. but yeah i yet to sit a dennis on NR.. lol

And the transfer should be made within 45 minutes from alighting/tapping out, and only with ez-link cards. For cash, you will have to pay $7 for 2 trips.
to add on, the SMRt NR more or less folow major MRT lines. which was the orginal set of Nr services conceptualised in the late 90s. certainly many NR svcs have come n gone. even one that used to run into NUS...

ahem.
I remembered SS2 that could run till East Coast Park. I wonder why TIBS was so ambitious to run these type of routes in the first place. Routes that brought little revenue. But really, those first days of it's existence were the hype that is long gone forever.
SS1 SS2 if i'm not wrong they use CSS buses right?
Where in this forum can I get all the info on the NR? ![]()

NR3 starts trip from CCK Int & loop at Boat Quay. Downroute is at Boat Quay.

First bus of 4N does 3 trips of 4N while the other 2 only do 2 trips. All other NightOwl services do 2 trips of their respective NightOwl Routes.
All 4 5N buses do half trip of 197 from Jurong East on Fridays.
All 4 8N buses do half trip of 174 from Boon Lay on Fridays and 3 from Boon Lay, 1 from NBR on Saturdays.
All NiteOwl services do not have to do trunk service crossover for holiday schedule (which is probably why tintinspartan saw the 5N & 8N buses parked at NBR).

Anyone knows what's the last bus going from Pasir Ris to town (NR7)?
I wrote email and also called in to enquire, but got 2 different answers.
Through phone, I was told the last bus passing bus stop at Bedok Res is 2.15am.
Through email, I was told last bus is 4.35am.
So which is correct?
Get 2b, free from all these worries. ![]()

The last bus for NR7 is 0435hours leaving Marina Ctr Ter. But please note that buses leaving Marina Ctr Ter after 0215hours will terminate at Pasir Ris Dr 3 (Opp Loyang Pt) instead of a complete loop trip back to Marina Ctr Ter.
Hope this clears your doubt.
so supposing NR7 leaves Marina Ctr @ 0130, from the website, it estimates ~ 1.5 hr to reach Pasir Ris Dr3, does that mean it will still loop @ ~0300 at Pasir Ris and back to Marina Ctr, and on the way, pass by Bedok Res?
Cuz I need to get to Marsiling on Sunday morning by ~5.30am, and I think taking taxi is going to cost me ~$40 from Bedok Res to Marsiling. I should be able to save at least $30 by taking NR7 then transferring to NR2

hmm, then what lifelikedrama & ^tamago^ say don't tally. Cuz if after 2.30am at Pasir Ris, means, the bus must leave Marina Center before 1am for it to loop.
