The Sembawang Bus Plan I drew up, as mentioned in the bus route improvement thread. The map is courtersy of Google Maps.
- Route 167: extended to ply Sembawang Way and Sembawang Drive, stopping outside Sun Plaza. Brings the route nearer to the interior of Sembawang town, as well as providing a doorstep-direct link with Sembawang MRT and Sun Plaza.
- Route 169: no change. It was practically impossible for me to extend this route into Sembawang without skipping Admiralty Road East, currently served only by route 169, or by making circuitous loops.
- Route 856: amended to ply Sembawang Vista, Sembawang Drive, and Admiralty Link. Provides a more direct link to the Admiralty Link area from Yishun, and enhances connectivity within the interior of Sembawang town, Senoko Industrial Estate, and Yishun town. Could be slightly too circuitous though - a slightly less circuitous option could be to use Admiralty Drive to get to Canberra Road instead of Admiralty Link.
- Route 859: no change. I decided to drop that two-directional loop plan I had.
- Route 882: major enhancement within Sembawang town and extension to Yishun, following the route I have mentioned earlier in this thread (see below). Provides enhanced link within the interior of Sembawang town, creates badly-needed links around Wellington Circle, restores direct link between Yishun and Sembawang Park, and creates direct link to Yishun Swimming Complex and Yishun Polyclinic from Sembawang (not shown).
- Route 883: new intra-town route for Sembawang, improving upon someone's route 883 suggestion. Links the Sembawang Crescent/Admiralty Drive neighbourhoods with the Wellington Circle neighbourhood, with a direct link to the MRT station in between.
- Route 962: no change. This route is probably the only excellently-routed bus route Sembawang residents have currently.
- Route 964: extended to Sembawang via Woodlands Avenue 9, 10, and Sembawang Way, with a direct link to Sembawang MRT station. Creates new link between the industrial estate at Woodlands Loop/Link and Sembawang, and brings a closer MRT-bus transfer for MRT commuters coming in from south of Sembawang and is going to the industrial estate. However, it will skip Woodlands Loop, where many of the factories are. A possible option is to make a detour within Woodlands Loop before continuing on Woodlands Link and Avenue 9, but may make the route rather circuitous.
- Route 965: extended to cover Sembawang town. They didn't allow route 858 in here, they probably won't allow route 969 in here, but route 965's route should be short enough for them to put it through this town. This enhancement will create a link between Sengkang and Sembawang, and further enhance bus links between Yishun and Sembawang.
- Route 980: no change. Initially wanted to make it go round Sembawang Crescent, but realised the route will be too circuitous.
- Route 981: enhanced to cover all of Sembawang Way and to use Woodlands Avenue 10 to get to Senoko. Off-service route 981 buses already use this route to get to Senoko from Sembawang in the evening peak hours; this route will finally make use of virtually all the white-elephant bus stops along Woodlands Avenue 10 (the extended route 964 will also make use of some of them), and adds the industrial estate around Woodlands Loop/Link as another industrial served by it's route (at least partially), in addition to Senoko Industrial Estate. The direct link to Sembawang MRT station is retained by routing it out of the interchange through Canberra Road - though the directions served will flip around.
I would like to hear some comments and feedback on my plan; I may even seriously consider submitting this to my M.P.
Good job.
Extend 859 to the eastern part of Singapore la. Retain the route from SBW to Yishun, then perhaps go to Tampines via TPE and then terminate at Changi Village.
EDIT: Perhaps reroute 969 as follows: Gambas Ave > Sembawang Rd > Yishun Ave 3 > Yishun Ave 2 > ... And retain the route for 859 between SBW and Yishun. Like that those living along Ave 3 can go Tampines directly, and reduce duplication.

I would prefer it if the loop around the Interchange is converted into a feeder service. Something like this:
Service 859 (the service number may have to be changed)
Service 880: Loop service serving both directions

i suggest you edit your post, before you get more flamings..
Suggestion: route 292 can be merged with route 39.
Enhanced route 39
(return journey)
in this way, the service only skips two stops along Tampines Ave 2 (whilst serving four other stops) and residents living by Tampines St 22 can have better access to Tampines Ave 7 and Pasir Ris region. This could also save a service number.

Nt quite they also need to take svc292 to Mrt Stn ma nw they have 2 svcs too fa bian for them if take one they must wait for svc39 usually svc39 come 11mins-20mins timing
Well, seems like my Sembawang bus plan has generated quite a flurry of activity here; I will be looking through all of the posts relating to Sembawang routes here and try to reply to them as soon as possible.

I cannot see how this version of route 882 will ever be implemented - one, it will make commuting from Sembawang to Sembawang a circuitous trip involving running down a quarter of Yishun town and then back up via the fringe area of Sembawang, before continuing down Sembawang Road to the end. Likely this route will not be allowed by the authorities for being too indirect; my version of route 882, though still rather circuitous at some points, is overall a more direct route than this.

I doubt they will allow these amendments to become reality... route 859 is primarily an inter-town route between Sembawang and Yishun; it's pointless to extend it beyond Yishun. Plus, the route may become too long - don't forget route 859 makes a huge loop inside Sembawang.

It may look good on paper, but you will be killing off it's connection to Yishun Town Centre, where virtually all of the bus routes in Yishun and the MRT are, and where people make transfers between route 969 and the MRT and other bus routes!

This amendment might be actually feasible; rather than try to make route 859 a Sembawang feeder and Sembawang-Yishun inter-town route, it could make sense to split them into two routes and extend the shell of the former route 859 (now relieved of it's burden as a inter-town/feeder route) to somewhere else - Changi Village (as suggested), Changi Airport, or Tampines. Might also help allievate some of route 969's load if extended to Tampines.
Coupled with my enhanced route 856 (which will turn it into a true part-time inter-town route between Sembawang and Yishun), and the through-fare system, your route 859/880 suggestion might work, though some residents might complain of loss of direct links between Sembawang and Yishun (those in Sembawang Crescent and Admiralty Drive neighbourhoods, especially). And yes, route 859 might need a new number. Route 989?! (Random suggestion, lol)

Don't care about him. He like that one.
It may be possible to extend 189 to serve Kent Ridge Crescent. Looping at the terminal seems a waste.
... I have another feeling that both Ghim Moh Terminal and Buona Vista Terminal can be converted into a single bus interchange near Holland Rd, otherwise a bus depot. Then the services can be all diverted there.

As such bedok would loss a link to Kent Ridge and service 7 extension i dun like. Can we had new services instead. Anyway, service 18,28,38 connects Tampines to Bedok liao.....

Bedok would not lose a link to Kent Ridge. Just that you don't get to board at the interchange. Anyway, Service 7 extension is good as it may be able to help to ease some of the load on Service 17 at Bedok North Ave 4.

i don think they r feasible, particulary extension of 7.
Kind to explain why, AEW5001 and SBS n SMRT?
Advantage for my service 7
- Ease loads for service 17 along Bedok North Ave 4
- Ease loads for 12(Tampines - Bugis), 65,576,579,518(Tampines - Orchard) and 10 (Tampines to west areas)
- Direct Link from St Anthony C'sian Sch to west areas.
Advantage for my service 33
- Ease loads for service 22 and 293 along Tampines Ave 4
- New Link from Tampines Ave 4 to Bedok Station
- New Link from Tampines to Dunman Rd (currently both service 16 and 33 terminates at Bedok)
- Ease loads for 12(Tampines to Bugis), 12(Tampines to Chinatown) and 10(Tampines to West areas)
I agree with catinthehat (on a previous post) that 189 can actually merge with 95 to form a service from Bt Batok Int to loop at Holland Rd. The only problem is that they are run by different companies.
