  Er, Scania N113CRB l0v3r, just thinking about your Svc 148. Passing through Tampines? Might as well do the full job of linking Tampines West (Ave 3 & 4, St 82,83,84). That area lacks connection to Changi. Although Tampines already has Sv 27 and 34, Tampines West is damnably hard to go to the Airport. And I agree it is time that Bedok North/ Reservoir needs connection to Changi.

  Hmm... Couple of factors need to be considered for lengthening Svc 67 to Changi Village Terminal.

  1. Potential duplication of Sv 2

  You can lengthen it from Tampines. Going to Changi Village. Then no further duplication of Sv 2.

  However problem 2

  2. Extension from TP to CVillage would involve duplication of Sv 19 & 29. Only one road leads TP to CV (Tampines Ave 7-Loyang)

  3. Already v. long route of Sv 67.

   

  This means to extend 67 it will involve a short timing to CV. Not duplicating 2, 19 and 29. There is only one way though, but is potentially profitable(sector from Tampines Blk 936 to first stop of Pasir Ris, high traffic - But SBST wouldnt be happy though) .

  Going through Pasir Ris.

  From Blk 938 Tampines Ave 5, 67 will duplicate 15 all the way to Pasir Ris St 52, then take Pasir Ris Drive 3 to Loyang Ave (Express sector from aft Downtown East)

  Following that, a left to Loyang Ave (Express) all the way to Changi Village Terminal.

  Would this be possible?

  Time to have opposite pair of bus stops. Or perhaps the bus can make the same turn with a IN OUT plate front like tat of 139.

  Practically no, but theortically yes. 

  Reasons

  It is able to lengthen 67 without the worry for and duplications as it extends from Tampines while service 2 just go directly to the changi village via expo

  In addition, the long route should not be a problem as some service had even longer routes, see 51, 858 you will understand.

  However, service 67 is a SMRT service and it should not be allowed by PTC to extend by Tampines as it would use Pasir Ris and it would violate the districts boundary.

  In addition, the demand of the route would not be as high, as Changi Village Terminal is designed to serve the people going to Pulau Ubin nd the few residents living there, there is already enough links for the residents there and as not many people in Tampines and along the route would frequent Pulau Ubin regulary, the route may not be profitable and given SPH(SMRT CEO) attitude, she would not like it.

  However, it is possible to extend to Sengkang if you like it.

  Referring to bus555,

  But you see, do you know how many aunties go to the market at blk 823A? Sat and sun is gonna be packed. The amended 291 main revenue source is

   

  1. Tampines Int to Ave 5 St 83, 82 and back

  2. Tampines Int to St 81

  3. St 84 Ave 3 to Tampines Int

  4. Tampines Ave 5 to St 82, 91

  5. St 91 to Ave 3 and St 81 (very profitable on sat sun - market days)

  6. St 82, 91 to St 84

   

  Basically all fit perfectly except return journey from st 81 to St 91. I guess then have to walk to blk 830 av3 take amended 291 to st91.

  But the traffic isn't really from Int to st 91. Like u said, they would most likely take 22. But need i say the interval of 22 is DAMN(i dun think i need to say :) )!

  But i think this route would be a potential money-spinner

  I'm sorry but I dun think this is very feasible, coz

  1. 34 is low yield

  2. pple from blk 700+ want to get to av 2 tampines quickly w/o the one-stop option at tampines int

  3. what st 82 and 91 really need is a townlink linc. the amended 291 would allow st 91 people to go to st 80++...

  4. Junction of av 4 and ave5. st 91 is located near av 5, u kinda duplicate area, tampines town planners must have sucked at geography(Roads dun linc, blocks everywhere...)

   

  I think sv 34 should remain as it is...

  There must be more services which intersect tampines. The current situation is baffling... only one main route where services of many other buses passing thru tp is at tampines av 5, then right to tp station and ave 1... Tampines should have been planned better.
