e svc is meant to "interlink estates separated by a reservoir in between" (taking e NS Line may be too long by itself). after exiting mandai ave, it will go around khatib mrt area, then head to toa payoh while passing thru ang mo kio / bishan est w/o really getting close to e mrt stations. this prevents duplications of e respective feeder svcs.

but 506 n 985 also have a bit of shortfalls here n there. i think e svc is fine, but thks for that. maybe i chg to start at Bt Panjang n end at Bishan instead.
After riding NR2 last night, I was inspired by it's routing to create a daytime route that could be similar to it's sector within Sembawang and Woodlands...
Route 889 - Sembawang > Woodlands Checkpoint (loop)
Option 1:
Sembawang Bus Interchange > Sembawang Vista > Sembawang Drive > Admiralty Drive > Canberra Road > Sembawang Avenue > (follows NR2's route until just before Woodlands MRT Station/Bus Interchange) > Woodlands Bus Interchange > Woodlands Avenue 5 > Marsiling Rise, Road, and Drive > Admiralty Road, and Woodlands Centre Road (loop).
Option 2:
Sembawang Bus Interchange > Sembawang Vista, Drive, and Avenue > Canberra Road > Admiralty Drive > Sembawang Way > Woodlands Avenue 7 > (follows NR2's route until just before Woodlands MRT Station/Bus Interchange, then continues as per option 1)
Benefits:
Drawbacks:

Benefits:
- Creates new links between Marsiling, Woodlands Checkpoint, and Sembawang
- Creates new direct links within Woodlands
- Can potentially be extended beyond Woodlands to elsewhere via Bukit Timah Expressway or Woodlands Road in the future from the Woodlands Checkpoint side
Drawbacks:
- Both options are rather circuitious routes, especially within Sembawang
- Duplicates different sectors of routes 962, 178, and 913 to a certain extent
- Could excarberate crowding situation at Woodlands Interchange (one way to avoid this is to route it through Woodlands Avenue 5 completely and skip Avenues 4 and 7)
just extend 950's route.
