Got me to Sembawang 5/8 the usual time :)
When I last took it this yr I found out that there is no glass cover for the first aid kit box
i recommend SBS7365C, nice door closing chime is music to our ears and has a quiet engine.

Is that the bus of the current 198?

ya
I recommend TIB749G on S966. There is a slight malfunction in the gear box, likely a gear slip and when it changes gears, it would be very loud. No speed limiter for that bus too and that bus is fast, going up to 70 kmh at times.
Also, SBS8030L is also recommended. The interior is good especially the back seats. Some say the exterior is nice while others don't. I personally think that the exterior is good bodywork except for the dent on the bumper.......
i recommend SBS88Z to merzrox.

SBS 905 R.
has a slight THD102KF engine sound, yet preserves the THD101GC sound upon acceleration. very smooth shifting, and is this one of the 4- speeder Voiths?
I recommended 9251 the best bus in SBS Transit as far as i know of
For SMRT, I recommend TIB 577 K, TIB 634 D and TIB 847 G, especially TIB 634 D..
I recommend TIB635 or TIB528C......both can chiong. Best if driver late. Today on TIB635 on service 167, I think bus late sio, 90kmh? All 4 gears go very fast. Overtook 'zhng-ed' Lancer. I wonder what his expression was lol.

'...634D shall, after transfer last year, breakdown every time it comes out on service...'
Today its on s851. Anyone saw it parked on the streets? :D

634D is baaaaaaaaaad LOL, after transfer to AM it breaks down like everyday, so if it doesn't break down means you will strike 4D! ![]()
On a side note, I would say most 171 buses are worth a try; *points to 507M*.

496 is disaster. the bus is so stuffy. gearslip. driver cant even go above 40. that i took it, it got overtook by 8 buses. packed to the door no power.

Yeah most, with the exceptions of a FEW. ![]()
For me, SMB39A & SMB58U r the best. Even if the BC sets the aircon low, it would still be very cold.. TIB507M is one of my best OAC 0405 Hispano i have ride on. Aircon superb, engine.. Wah, 5 thumbs up for me! I took it while it was doing 171.
Recommend SBS9135L,SBS1923G for it speed and aircon
For SBS1940G : even though the bus is cold , plz do not sit right side the middle part near the door because the aircon there is spoilt, no aircon come out de
I recommend TIB520Z, unfortunately, its SP bus. Engine rev till 2800rpm (I saw the tacho with my own eyes, k?), super loud, super cold, super AMAZING!
Why is it that the O405 from TIB520Z to TIB529 are very chiongster? 525K also chiong, except when on TRG.
Hmmm... sometime back I came here and recommended the Dennis Trident buses; someone busted in and disagreed with me. Now I can understand why.
Yesterday I took SBS 9683X on route 64, and when I saw the standard of maintenance on the bus, I was really disappointed. First of all, the door closing chime no longer works properly (doesn't light up, out of tune); the bus stopping bell has also become inaudible from the lower deck, and is set incorrectly (four-tone instead of the standard two-tone). The bus' floor also looked really dirty, as if someone spilled some kind of sticky or dirty liquid and all the dirt is allowed to stick to it (yuck!). Some of the panelling around the wheel arches and the flight of steps were coming off, and one of them had disappeared altogether! The engine was also really loud and booming (especially obvious from the lower deck), and was not the smooth, quiet, and powerful ones I have come to expect from the Dennis Tridents.
From the exterior, the rear engine cover and panelling on the bodywork also looked rather dirty (for such a newer bus); it also looked slightly "banged-up" and out of shape.
The few things I'm sastified with were: the lightning (luckily, all of them were still pale-yellow bulbs, unlike some other buses that have a odd mix of white and yellow light bulbs - though I think at least one of them is missing for the upper deck); the seat counter, which was still working fine; the seats, which looked to be in good condition, and the LED displays, which seemed to be in proper working order (heard one of the Dennis Tridents had been refitted with ill-fitting Cool-Air LEDs).
It's really quite saddening to see such a fine bus - probably one of the finest on our roads - being mantained this way. Have the stresses of the economy, the selfishness of Singaporeans and their resistance to paying higher fares (which could had translated into more funding for the maintenance of the buses) , and corner cutting on SBS Transit's part, resulted in all of this?

TIB525K is deteorating le. You can really hear it from the engine if you have ever sat on it before ... ... and its really aging very fast

today on 87 i think
TIB504X
(smooth and fast acceleration)
SBS918D
(the sound is special especially when the gear changes from 2nd to 3rd to 4th gear and when it stops.)
