The external step below the autodoor is also auto concealed when the door closes and vice versa.
just asking, do these buses meet euro IV or euro V emission standards? sorry if the question has been answered before elsewhere

The Dennis Darts expire in 2011, so it won't be so soon unless someone purchases the darts from SBS Transit.

If they wanted something of that size, they wouldn't have sold off the 811Ds and the Sprinter 312Ds (SBSL Citylink Direct) which they had.

The MB sprinters have smaller carrying capacity then the Darts to begin with...besides, they are using standard 12m buses along the two routes operating darts.
I can't think of any use of them buying it....maybe ComfortDelgro buys it for their private buses.
SBS Transit should consider buying a few low-floor midi-buses (maybe 20 to 50 units) for some of their low-demand routes, as well as routes that run within narrow roads. I was once on a route 409 bus that became struck on the narrow roads on Mount Faber due to it's size; a midi-bus could have be able to squeeze through with less headaches.
To make them more generally deployable, SBS Transit can consider buying those that have powerful-enough engines to give them performance comparable to that of their full-sized counterparts. I have never been on SBS Transit's Dennis Dart buses before, but I was on a privately-owned one once, and the performance of it was pathetic at best; there didn't seem to be enough pickup power.
if im not wrong, i tot SBS isnt considering to buy minibus anyore?

The only grudge I have against the Sprinters are it's air-cons. They are using the same air-con duct as our Hispano Habit bendies, and worse, their air-con seems very weak... Overall the bus becomes extremely stuffy.
Other than that, the performance of this bus seems impressive.

Beg to differ, aircon is very strong, but the design of the aircon duct and more importantly the aircon outlet is badly designed, it was just a basic European model without much modifications. Unless you are sitting near the driver, aircon was virtually non existent.
The engine peformance (2000+cc) wasn't as good as a Coaster or a Rosa (4000+cc), a Sprinter has 220Nm of Torque while a Rosa has 470 Nm and a coaster has 397 Nm. The Sprinter struggled while travelling up slopes and had a significantly slower accleration as compared to a Coaster or a Rosa. The good thing is that they chose a minibus with automatic gearbox which saves the driver the hassle of using the clutch and the gearstick.
