Quality bus engine music now available from Krisgage @ 44 kHz !

In this clip, the bus SBS 2724 H serving 74 at that time, bus model is Volvo B10M-61 Mk IV with Volvo DH10A engine coupled with 3-speed automatic Voith DIWA 863.3 gearbox. This clip recorded when the bus is running along Bukit Timah Road, stop and go traffic, then going up the slope at Clementi Road and stops at bus stop opposite Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

yes, but torque convertor locked up at both first and second gear during the second time it accelerated. anyway i'm surprised this company still makes a gearbox that sounds like 4HP500, which ZF itself no longer makes.

ZFs and Allisons have distinctively different howls. Allison howls tend to be longer, and not as adrupt as ZF. Allison make nice transmissions, of which their superior accleration make them a more competitive replacement for manual gearboxes than ZF or Voith. It is just pitiful that few in this region use it for on-road applications.

ah yes, it's the Allison T375R gearbox. the bus indeed accelerated much faster than our buses, and offers a more comfortable ride than their manual transmission counterparts running alongside taipei's roads, even though the third gear could be dragged a little longer since the fourth gear seemed a little weak.
