There isn't much difference in sound between a ZF4HP500 and a 5HP500 (besides there being one additional gear change) but there is a difference between a 5HP500 and a 5HP502. -

A 5HP is simply a 4HP with an overdrive gear (0.83:1). Both sound the same in 1st to 4th gear.
Oh, and if you thought the transmission was loud inside the bus, you should hear it outside - you can hear it from blocks away, especially at night when there's little traffic!!

I have. They sound fine to me. Remember, not everybody has hundreds of dollars worth of equipment like me.
